Naina had seen everything in her life. She had faced all the problems coming in one’s life but the greatness lies in the fact that her belief towards God remained unchanged. She grew, her age taught her a lot and experience as well and the only thing she learned in life is to rely only on God and there’s none to rely upon. Even your shadow leaves in the time of darkness, that’s why the only one to depend upon  is God.

She had been given a room in his son’s house where only loneliness accompanied her. Her daughter-in-law never sat beside her and talked and this wasn’t enough. She rather fought with Naina and asked not to roam about here and there and complain against her to her husband. Naina was very old but she had a habit of doing her work herself. She never asked her daughter-in-law to do her work.

She just wanted a peaceful life of her son. She didn’t want his life to be disturbed. This continued and Naina’s life went through the time when her son had become unaffected with whatever was happening with her mother. His heart had love but towards her wife only. Or was the love towards her mother was just replaced by that of her wife? Does this really happen in real life? This was the fact  Naina thought to herself but it is such a complicated thing to get in aa normal person’s life.

This kind of situation is common among people’s life. Anyone may go through  situation where he/she wants someone to share his/her pain in life but there’s none to help you through it. Then a power inside you or some call it the positive energy inside you makes you feel lighter than before. That’s what comes because of God’s grace. Naina was going through this. But whenever she felt so she prayed to God to send an angel that may help her come out of this pain.

Her wish wasn’t fulfilled yet but she had patience to wait for the best to come. Her life was going the way it was amid various hardships.

She went to the morning walk daily. When she was returning from there, she saw some new neighbors in her society. They saw Naina as an old happy woman as they could only see the fake smile that she wore to hide her pains and the story of her struggling life from the society. The new neighbors of Naina was a small family including a Lady named Ritu, her husband and their two Kids  who were teenagers along with her mother-in-law . Ritu always saw Naina and greeted her.

Naina liked the attitude of Ritu. She invited her in her home. Ritu’s mother in law had become Naina’s friend. They were somewhat Of the same age. Naina liked her company as she had none in her life to share her feelings  with. She lacked love in her life. Nobody even cared where she is and how is she. She  realized  that Ritu and her mother in law

Were God’s angels. She wanted someone in her life to share her happiness, Sadness, and everything which was lost long back when she lost her family After marriage. It’s only said that the girl’s own relations with her family remain undisturbed when she is married but her whole life suffers ups and downs. She Has to compromise every time.

Naina was happy to know that. There were people in her life who loved And cared for her. Ritu was a very nice woman. She served every passerby and Helped the needy. Ritu’s  mother in law told Naina about Gita and it’s messages.. Naina  listened to the good  sayings to console herself and Be peaceful in mind and soul. She was happy to have such  a good company. She realized how God helped her through all this and put a smile on her face after a very long time.

Even Ritu’s mother in law was a nice woman. She had suffered a lot in her Life and shared that with Naina. They discussed each other’s struggle in life and shared each other’s pain. Both had gone through hardships in life.

The only difference between them was that Ritu’s mother in law had her in her painful life unlike Naina. Naina’s son had left her uncared and unloved in a room his home. Now she had angels in life who loved and cared for her. She  slept with a light heart whose pain reduced by sharing it.

  • Against all ODDS

    Against all ODDS

The story may seem similar to their self for who have been a victim of the reservation that exist in several fields of our nation’s administration.

Great achievements are never easy. It takes a big deal to achieve things in life. Every fall in your life makes you rise. Understand the stepping stones towards success so that you reach higher than you ever were. Inspiration does not come from others. It works when you start comparing your past and present. Sweety was one of that kind. Passing through infinite number of struggles she stood at the position no one expected her to be. She is now the Chief Scientist at the Nation’s centre for Scientific Research and Development.

It was before 10 years when Sweety completed her tenth grade of schooling in her small town. While everyone else joined higher grade in a popular school in the next town, she couldn’t even see that school due to her family situation. She decided to continue the remaining two years of schooling in her  town. She chose to study biology and mathematics as major subjects and worked to the best possible level. She scored 197/200 which her classmates who left to the best schools also did not secure. Everyone motivated her to join medicine so that she would become a good doctor and serve her town. She believed that it was really a good choice and dreamt of becoming a doctor soon.

The day when she had been to the counselling for joining a medical college, there happened the twist she was not even aware of. She belonged to General category. The government had some reservations for other communities and just because she belonged to general, she could not get offer in a renowned Governmental medical institution. Other students who had secured less than her got offers through reservation. She had no other options for a government institution. Her parents could not afford to join her in a private institute. She felt the whole world before her break apart. Her dreams shattered in minutes.

She felt broken not because she lost the medical seat but because she lost it due to her community while others who scored lesser than her got into medical colleges.

It took some days for her to recover while she applied for Engineering admissions. She decided to chose for biology related engineering atleast she would not lose her passion for biology. Four years passed so soon while she learnt a lot in research and engineering. Rather, Caste and community followed her everywhere. She had cried a lot seeing her parents struggling for getting the loans from bank for her college fee. Others who had a good family background and came to college just for obtaining a degree, were offered a lot of scholarships. Sweety who scored first even at her college, was offered nothing because of her community. Passing through all these heartbreaking incidents, she was self motivated. She believed in her hardwork. For the next level of her education, she applied for the National Eligibility Test when she was again vexed up on seeing the exam fee. It was just doubled for General candidates compared to other reserved candidates. She felt why she couldn’t afford anything with her merits rather than her community. Anyways, she worked hard and scored the best for joining the position of a Junior Research Fellow at the Central institute. That’s how she started to grow.

Even while joining as research fellow, her grants for stipend was comparatively low than people of other communities. She managed to get through them by earning in part-time jobs besides working perfectly on her project. Innovations became easy for her due to her immense knowledge on basics of biology which she had learned on self during schooling.

Two years passed. She completed her project as soon as possible. It was an unexpected event when she got placed in administrative position in the same centre she had been doing her research. It was a reward for her wonderful team work and managing skills that she had exposed during her project. In two more years, she became the Chief Scientist in the same. This was the perfect growth, it was all because of her untired perseverance.

Everytime when she worked hard and achieved great things, she lost best opportunities just because of this reservation. Yet, at last, she proved herself against all odds and reached the best position. She always thanked all the troubles she had come across that made her bold enough and strong. Her college life helped her improve her patience and tolerance so that she became a good leader later. The problems she faced during her work as a JRF helped her improve her research and problem solving skills.

    Moral:

Difficulties always makes us stronger. Boldness will help to grow.

Naina was amid all circumstances facing the loneliness. Her children were The only one around which her life revolved. She was a true believer of God. According to her, God helped those in trouble. The one who devotes herself/himself in the service of the Almighty Serve His creations whether it is a plant, tree, human, animals or anything. She followed all such Things from the bottom of her heart. She didn’t earn much, just a little to send her children to  school, eat healthy food and save some money for emergency situations. She visited her parents

Once in a year because she had shifted to New Delhi along with her master.  Now, her brother was married to a girl of their same caste and it was an arranged  marriage. Though it wasn’t as successful as it should be, her brother had to spend her whole life  like that. There was difference in their mentality, way of thinking and the way of living too. She was  a Lady who didn’t want interference from her in-law family members in her life. That’s why a gap  had been produced in between Naina and her family that society didn’t call her home now. Just  because a girl is married doesn’t mean her belongings, her parents and all her relationships  change from what it was since her birth.

She missed the house she was born in, she laughed in and where she was inspired  by the greatest man in her life who was his father who was no more. He had died some years ago  and she missed her a lot. The reason was very clear. He was the only good man in his life while  others made her struggle in life. Whenever she sat free thinking of how her life had been, a tear  always fell from her eyes which she wiped as soon as the thought of her children came to her  mind. Every woman’s life comprises of such ups and downs. Sometimes she feels like giving up  but she is more serious about the relationships she share with all the people around her and  the feeling of serving them is stronger than the fear of being failed in life and giving up.

She always gave great values to her children. They were growing young and she was  getting older day by day. Even then she was working under her master. They were helpful to her.

They asked her to leave the job, take extra money and settle rather than working in old age. Her  daughters were married by the help of them. She thought of engaging her son too so that her  bride may look after him and her. The girl chosen for his marriage was a beautiful girl. Her name  was Simi. She was not from a rich family. She belonged to a middle class family but didn’t get love  in her life because of having a step mother after her mother’s death.

That’s why she lacked love in her life. After marriage, she thought that she’ll not face  that trouble again. It will no more be a struggling life as she had lived under her step mother. She  was beaten by her step mother for no reason and she really hated her. She wasn’t even given  good food, education and her father didn’t say anything about that. He totally agreed to what she  said. He was blindly in love with her second wife any he didn’t know that she was in love with her  money. When she was married, she hoped to be loved. But her wish wasn’t fulfilled. That was the  reason of her frustration. She didn’t behave in a proper way with Naina. Her husband went to his  office meanwhile Naina wasn’t treated well by her daughter in law and she didn’t expected so.

After such a long journey of her struggling life, she wanted a happy ending to it. But life didn’t  come  out as happening as she thought.

That added to one more reason for her distress. She  didn’t want her son’s life to be disturbed by her relationship with Simi. She didn’t want history to  repeat by giving way to domestic violence in her home. She asked his son to be lovable and  caring towards her wife. Gradually he started spending time with Simi. She was happy for the fact  that she was loved immensely by her husband. She didn’t lack love now. But her attitude towards  Naina remained the same. According to Simi, the situation was so because of her mother in law.  She wanted to throw her out of her  home but couldn’t do it because of her husband.

Naina’s life was passing but she didn’t expected so much pain in her life. She  sometimes thought of leaving her home for Simi’s happiness but the thought disappeared after  something happened in her life. She was  roaming in a park for  morning walk. While returning to  home, she saw a rickshaw driver whose right hand was completely damaged. He was holding the  handle with his left hand. She approached him  and asked her why he was doing so in such a  situation. He could have begged and save money   rather than doing such a difficult work. He had  a smile on her face. He told her that the one who believes in God don’t ever doubt on His deeds.  One should see the positive side in  every situation no matter what come.

He told her about the incident in which his hand was damaged. He was travelling  from his hometown to Delhi for some work by train.  The train met an accident and many  passengers died. But his hand was  damaged and nothing else happened. He was the only one  who suffered the least damage. That’s why he was grateful to God.

That made her believe stronger than she had in the one who created this universe and  all of his creators include animals,  humans and nature. This is what she needed while giving upon  Life. She wasn’t sure of what to do next and that’s the reason why she was waiting for the  approval of God. Then she made her mind for never giving up and trying as hard as he she can to  continue her life as God want it to be.

She loved and cared for everyone. She was grateful to God that she could serve humanity and play her role well in the society. She was living her life God gave her in order to see the best of her life.

  • For the Borders

    For the Borders

Once I asked a soldier who live nearby my place, “What do you think about New Year celebrations?” He replied, “After so many years I am celebrating this….” He further continued, “The last day of the year!…everywhere the mood of celebrations and elation. Populace travels all around the globe to celebrate new-year with mammoth blast. The destinations for the same majorly include Dubai, Singapore, Paris, etc. Even in India, cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore remain alive for the last week of the month. Several ones even loose the track of time….and money too. At the same time, there are few individuals standing at the border-gates, over the hill-tops and mountains near fences protecting kids, families, mother and fathers of their nation. They might not be able to give a call or send a Whatsapp message to their family that how happy they feel and how eagerly they wanted to celebrate that night at home for many years…..but…”

He further continued, “If you ask Google to define a word ‘soldier’ many renowned names like Oxford or Cambridge or Merriam Webster word-databases come up, accompanied by nearly 36 million results within just a blink of an eye. Many websites redundantly describe the word as ‘a being with special utilitarian skills, experience that enables them to use weapons and related machines’. I am not blaming general population who are easily picturing their uniforms, huge houses and facilities, but not looking at the hardships they had to take for that. After working for the whole week no one wants to read or even think about something over such tracks. The mundane lives revolve around money, parties and friends. No one can point a finger over them saying that why are you not showing respect? Or what is wrong? Because it’s their personal choice and our constitution is based on the same.”

He took a halt in the walk we were having and said, “But few individuals are so enamoured by the thoughts of their nation that they don’t even mind about their family lives or their kids, wives and mothers. They don’t think about people giving them respect only twice a year. Not to mention the names but myriad number of movies gave a glimpse of their lives. The enormous hardships and pains they undergo are just out of our imagination. Can someone think about their mindsets and how they must be running? While soldiers are holding a flag till their last breath, people in the nation are watching the war scenes on TV and thinking of packing so that they can leave the country during 1999, Kargil. Soldier fighting 300 Chinese gun-men or a major paraded and dumped in the ally nation whose bodies can’t be ever recovered are few exemplary individuals. They were constantly thinking about billion lives, but left just one out of it.”

Finally we reached below our building and I was listening to him, “In case of UN Volunteering, Swachha Bharat Abhiyan or No Suicide Act these teams are ready to serve. Any time they are always on their feet to help others. They do not care about the day and night time track and because of them the young generation can ‘Eat-Sleep-Rave-Repeat’. One can write innumerable number of words to extol them but even thousand dictionaries or million pages are not enough. For the safe tomorrow they have given their today. Hence, any number of Sun-Burns, One directions and Republics run safely. Such things can’t compete even slightly what they do and the harsh truth is they never cared much. A humble request to all the readers, in this ‘Happy 2017’ at least demonstrate some respect for this people every time you celebrate something, every time you pray to God or help someone. General population in India never think back even once before donating money or food in a temple, but they stay back and relax at home on those two days of holidays or even go for an outing. I think such prays and helping hands will augment the motivation and vigour of the borders, which will help them protect the nation and their own selves in a better way.  JAI HIND!” I also repeated, “JAI HIND!”

  • Warrior Queen : Rani Velu Nachiyar

Warrior Queen : Rani Velu Nachiyar

The story is based on the real life incidents of the valorous queen “Rani Velu Nachiyar”. She was the person who introduced the suicide attack against the enemies and that too with a women soldier. The conversations in this story are purely fictional.

    Durbar of Rani Velu Nachiyar

Rani Velu Nachiyar: what is the current situation in the battle field?

Ministers: Rani Ji, we are expecting a reply from our soldier.

    After 10 minutes

The soldier seeks the permission to enter into the durbar.

Rani Velu Nachiyar: what is the news?

Soldier: (tears in his eyes) Rani Ji, a bad news.

Soldier: Rani Ji, our maharaja has been killed by the British soldiers.

The ministers in the durbar were shocked and started crying due to the demise of their maharaja.

But Rani Velu Nachiyar controlled her emotions and started to speak.

It’s a tough situation for all of us. We should face this critical situation bravely. Don’t lose hope. I am with you and I need your support.

The ministers showed their support for their brave princess by clapping hands together.

Ministers: Rani Ji, what should we do now?

Rani Velu Nachiyar: I’ll fight with the British soldiers.

On hearing these words, the ministers were shocked.

Ministers: Rani Ji, how is it possible?

Rani Velu Nachiyar: I have learned the martial arts and archery and I am well versed in horse riding too.

Ministers: Rani Ji, we all know about your fighting nature but the situation is critical now. We have lost nearly half of our soldiers and it would be difficult to fight against our enemies.

Rani Velu Nachiyar: whatever may be the situation, we have to fight against our enemies and it is our responsibility to protect our own land.

Rani Velu Nachiyar then gave orders to all of her ministers to gather in a hall along with the soldiers. Then she devised a plan to attack the British.

Rani Velu Nachiyar makes the necessary arrangements to give first aid to the wounded soldiers and ordered the women and the children in the palace to escape through a secret route.

Rani Velu Nachiyar:  the British would though that the war has come to an end after the demise of our maharaja. They may not expect an attack from our side. We should not miss this opportunity.

Rani Velu Nachiyar along with the fearless soldiers attacked the British. The fight continued for several days and finally Rani has been left with only few soldiers. The ministers have decided to save their valorous queen and her daughter.

    Secret Life

Rani Velu Nachiyar and her daughter managed to escape from the British and lead a secret life for eight years. In those eight years Rani Velu Nachiyar managed to form an army and started getting support from those who are ready to fight with the British.

Rani Velu Nachiyar: Before we attack the British we have to destroy their resources.

Ministers: Rani Ji, how can we do that?

Rani Velu Nachiyar: it is possible through a suicide attack.

Ministers: on hearing those words the ministers and the soldiers were shocked.

I have escaped from the British not for my life. I was in need of more soldiers and support from the neighboring dynasties. Now it’s the time for us to attack the British.

Rani Velu Nachiyar: Is anyone of you is ready to sacrifice your life for the nation?

Kuyili: Rani Ji, I am ready to sacrifice my life and it would be an honor for me.

Rani Velu Nachiyar devised the plan of suicide attack and at the end of the attack Kuyili destroyed the place where the British army stored their ammunition.  Rani Velu Nachiyar formed a women’s army and her adopted daughter leads the army. Her daughter also died after destroying the enemies’ arsenal.

Rani Velu Nachiyar regained her kingdom due to her fighting nature and ruled for many years. She is definitely a role model for women.

Holding a lantern she was standing in front of gigantic waves rolling over the ocean.

Waiting for the arrival of someone who might be the savior of her life  and her heart

She saw the shining full moon and its shimmering light that affirmed the anticipation of stormy night

Suddenly she saw a bunch of black clouds engulfed the whole sky indicating it was going to be a tough night

Going to be something wrong she got an intuition, she turned behind and run to the palace

Holding her breath, she reached in her room and peeped of the window to know

    was she right or wrong

That bunch of  cloud was becoming denser as if to test the courage of  Princess and to show the mighty of nature

To prove her mettle she came to the balcony, breezes took  the form of the cyclone, soothing light replaced by the stark darkness as if they were agitated and wanted to inflict everyone to his /her deeds

Amid thundering and strong lighting, a shadow of a human became visible

having a penetrating gaze who was on the floating ravaged ship was followed by several ships

As she got the glance of him, it enticed her and she got overwhelmed.

her long wait was going to end and the dark cloud was scattered in the sky

Yes, it was a blue moon

And the glaze of that shine was found in her glittering eyes.

Yes, he was her life who had to go to the far land  to find his worth and to find where he belongs.

Finally,  time came when he came. And that moment was priceless.

Since childhood,  they were best friends the princess and the son of  a farmer whose name was Vijendra. As princess Rooplekha loved  nature and  thus  loved  gardening.

So, she always went to that farmer , Mangat to solve her queries related to flowers’  care. As he also used to deliver flowers to the palace. So, she came to know about him.

Mangat  was a farmer but he also used to plant flowers  so that  he could able to feed his family satisfactorily. And his flowers was liked by royal family but especially Rooplekha  loved the flower..

And out of curiosity, she persuaded her mother to go to her bloom field. So, she went and she loved it so much that she used to go there daily .

While she was searching for Mangat, she saw a boy who was desperately trying to plant a flowers  which was smashed by animals.

She had never seen such care and affection for a plant. She asked him why he was so eager to save those plants. You couldn’t save those  plant those were useless .Please throws plant and replace with new ones.

First, he didn’t answer but as she spoke again & again. He told her that those were like my siblings and how I can throw those if I had found some sparks of life in them, he continued and said if  it is not possible  to create life and then we must  try to conserve it as far as it is under one’s control.

Those words were bombarded  in her mind and after returning  palace she couldn’t forget his words and his  passion for life.

It was approximately 100-150 years before independence. She saw many brutal  assassination.

as well as  rupture of  their innocent soul.

But her state  was under the control of  British rule. She was grown in different environment i.e. fearless environment . As a girl she had an emotional quotient in her besides it she was also gifted with a logical quotient in her.

She always wanted to un -earthen  the real reasons behind any incidents or any accidents.

As years passed away .The whole scenario  of state was changed. Her father’s powers as a king was transferred to the Britishers and  he became just as a puppet of them.

But she never remained quiet and she learned all the nuances of a warrior as she learned it from her friends.

And her friends were the farmer’s son Vijendra , King’s minister daughter Shreya her best friend and there were others also who had a rebellious attitude  towards Britishers’ government and got fed up with government’s  inhuman torture and illogical & biased ruling.

    They made an organization.

Neither her father  nor her mother knew about her fighting spirit and so, they decided to marry her with neighbour king’s son Raghav Singh.

She had to accept the proposal but at the same time,  she also decided to get out of this trouble.

Not only she dedicated her life for the struggle but she also loved Vijendra who was always with her in each and every move against Britishers.

In between an unfortunate incident happened. His father died .And Britishers always wanted  to capture her kingdom and this was the best time to take the benefit of this golden opportuniy.

So ,she was informed by her spies that the British was coming to invade her state .And as she was the only child of her father. She decided to get on the war –field. She also decided to take help of her fiancée but he denied as he and her father didn’t want to go against British government.

And her friend Vijendra was out of the state to strengthen organization by creative awareness about that organization. And today he was about to come.

SO, SHE WAS WAITING FOR HIM  ON THE SHORE.

And finally he came and  he narrated about his journey that he had  to face corps which were guarding water border but finally his soldiers defeated them.

Hearing this,  she took relief  but he said that he was informed that British army were coming with more soldiers to capture her state.

    She said yes I know.

Next morning , they were preparing for the fight. Soldiers came to know  that they were led by the princess.

And so they started whispering among themselves but she cleared  their suspicion by saying that she had  been trained to fight since childhood  and she also showed her mettle before her soldiers by giving a tough competition to her kingdom’s most brave soldier as well as commander of her arm,  his name was Tej Pratap Singh.

So, she gained the belief of her army and they got inspired to see the bravery of her Princess.

Then, she stared to plan and  it was darkening and thus it was time to execute.

As sun set she was standing in the balcony and she saw a large army heading to her palace and  then heard the roaring  and as she turned she saw  there were many ships those were full of armed soldiers.

She was ready to fight with her army. As their ships came closer , it started raining of bullets ,many armies of her state  were killed by this  sudden attack.

Suddenly , Vijendra was heading  with a great number of army .

Seeing him, she got some relief. And she also entered in war field by galloping with blistering thunder.

They were fighting vehemently in the war and while fighting they were pushing the army towards the valley ,the enemy was looking despaired and shaken but suddenly a number of cavalary came from the landside to support British army.

It was a great planning of British government  to deceive princess .But her army and Vijendra didn’t stop even after that sudden attack and to see this princess also got a new  strength to fight. They fought bravely till the dusk and colour of rainbow scattered on the sky in the same way ,as the land was drenched with  the red colour of blood.

She found herself in Jungle and it was darkening ,sun was about to set .

Suddenly she was attacked by vultures and to escape from  them she jumped into the sea and tide was pulling her in its way to the great water fall .But in between,  she managed to align herself  along the wave and jumped into the fall while waving her sword to the darkness.

To her surprise, she was successful in penetrating the darkness and she was exposed and thus entered into the world of blissful light, she found a new dimension in the same world  and this world was so bright that she had to close her eyes.

As she opened her eyes she found herself in the battlefield where she was fighting but she was fainted due to weakness.

She saw her flag was flaunting in the sky. Vijendra was rushing towards her  to inform that they won. Then they were riding to the palace.

Each and everybody was celebrating the victory and praising  bravery of her princess as well as of Vijendra.

She was holding the hand of Vijendra and they  both were staring at the moon.

Yes, It was a full moon and she knew that with her love as well as with her  brave people, she  opened the gate of  new dimension which she saw in her dream.

And it is time to live with that dimension.

  • How an Indian woman is meant to behave (II)

How an Indian woman is meant to behave (II)

So, let me reintroduce Naina to you. As you have come along with me to such a Long journey, this is really going to  be awesome till the end. Naina already had two daughters. It was the third time she was expecting a baby. This was the last warning of her mother-in-law And she warned her to have a boy this time else she’ll have to be separated from her husband.

    Read part I

Naina was really scared. She didn’t have a single idea of what to do next. She told about this to Her parents. They reacted as usual. They asked her to leave it to her destiny this time. She wondered how she could control and get to know if he was a boy or she was a girl.

She was very disturbed. Then she had no choice but to leave it to the destiny in Order to know she is going to give birth to whom. She followed every rituals, went to saints who Claimed to fulfill her wish but made fool of her and even worshipped God by her heart and soul to Give birth to a boy. Nine months seemed to be nine years to her. But time passes and hence that Long period of time also passed. It was the time when she was left all alone. Neither her husband Nor anyone from the in-laws came along with her. She finally gave birth to a boy. That day she

realized that she was only hired by her in-laws and husband for their son or someone to carry On their family’s name in future. A woman has to give birth to a boy only and she is left with no choice except this. To a woman, success is believed to be when she gives birth to a boy.  She must give birth to only a boy and that is her biggest achievement in life.

Naina was happy that she will be accepted by her in-laws this time. She won’t face the World alone now. Her mother in law named him Anil. There was none in her in-laws accept her  mother in law she loved and respected her a lot in spite of the fact that she disrespected her whenever she came across her. Her husband was the owner of a cottage industry. After Anil’s birth, his granny’s health started deteriorating so she was hospitalized. Naina was really sad to  know that. She worshipped to God for her wellness.

She was recovering slowly. A week passed and Naina had gone to the hospital to Meet her. After meeting her, she realized how nice she was from the inside as she had been  thinking. Her mother in-law hadn’t shown her soft side to Naina ever. And she was glad to know that. She cried holding her and asked to forgive her for whatever she did. Nobody could control Tears on at that’s right. Naina was very happy to see her mother in law that way. She was right in  her mind while thinking of her. Few moments were spent in that atmosphere that something really

unimaginable happened. Sumit’s mom who was recovering at the hospital suffered from heart  attack. Urgently, everyone was sent out of the ward and taken to emergency ward, an I.C.U. for treatment. The doctors  worked but couldn’t save her. That was a grief for the whole family.  Someone elder and the only one who took care of them had just passed away. Naina and Sumit  lost someone they couldn’t imagine. They hugged each other and cried for their loss. That was the  day she saw Sumit crying. She realized the need of the hour. She consoled her husband not to  cry and be strong in such a situation where a person’s control on emotion is needed. Now he was  the only one the family was relying. He had to look up on her daughters and son. And before all that, the rituals had to be performed after her mother’s death. He realized that and worked  towards it.

Then everything was going smoothly. Sumit started drinking again. He came drunk  home daily. Naina was really disappointed by this. She could make out the effects of this habit on  her family. After few months, she realized the reason of this habit. The reason was disturbance in  his business. He couldn’t arrange money that was taken by him as debt. Many people came to his  house to get back that money and thus she realized this. She asked her husband to think of the  ways and arrange money for giving them back.  He slapped her hard and asked her to stay silent  in his matters. She cried a lot. She couldn’t think of anything else than staying quiet. She asked for  her parent’s help but they couldn’t help her. They didn’t have enough money. Sumit didn’t do  anything except drinking and coming back to his home. Naina felt sad seeing his condition. She  couldn’t even share how she felt about that. Nobody was there to listen to her and that made her  more  sad than she was. So here comes one more norm by the society for woman. And that is  regarding her views. She has to listen to whatever come across her. She cannot miss out anything  and has to remain quite as often as she came in the male dominated Society.

She was very stressed out. Then, her phone rang and the person on the other Side was an unknown person. She was feeling a bit disturbed as if something bad has happened. The man on the other side asked her to reach to the city hospital as soon as she could. She felt Helpless at that moment. There was none to console her right then and make her feel  a little light. She left her children to the neighbour living near her. She took an auto rickshaw and went to the hospital. That was the moment she saw her husband lying on a stretcher and a man  accompanying him. He was the man talking to her on the phone. She couldn’t control herself after seeing that scenario. That man told her that Sumit was lying outside his industry at night When all the workers had left. May be he was about to leave for home but I couldn’t make out  because he collapsed due to some health issue that was yet to be diagnosed.

Naina paid money  to the counter and got his husband admitted to be diagnosed. Then Sumit was taken to the ICU as the condition was really critical.  She called her parents for the help. Her  parents arrived at the  hospital to help her out when she needed it the most. They came with some money and gave  them to her so that she could use it for diagnosis and treatment of her husband. The reports came  after 24 hours. The  Doctors after observing the report told  Naina and her family that Sumit was  suffering from a liver disorder  in which his liver was totally damaged due to drinking alcohol.  There was no chance to save him. Even  his kidneys were also damaged. Naina came back home to take a look at her children. As she reached hospital back, Sumit was no more. Naina couldn’t trust the doctors who said so. She was supported by her father but they didn’t have enough  money. The rituals after his death was done. She couldn’t believe of  continuing her life all alone.

But she knew life is all about  trouble traveling struggling and passing through all the hardships that  good want us to go through. Life always gives us a lesson to move were even if you don’t want to.  Naina had to continue all alone for her children. The people returned back to get their money.  Naina was left with nothing except that big house and industry. She sold everything to give The money back to the people. She returned that. At least that burden of people who came to her  house and abused her husband was no more. She started working as a maid in a rich man’s  home. They had a big family. He gave her  a room to live in his house because she didn’t  have  enough money to pay as rent. In this way, her life was going in sadness but she was passing each Day with a fake smile on her face for her children who had only her as their life support in such a Big world.

  • Tom Doner – Child Prodigy

    Tom Doner – Child Prodigy

World is the place where language and linguistic barriers are there which are creating the caste and creed differences between people. The population require different languages to maintain the diversity and importance of their community. There is this young mind who can speak 17 different tongues, he is a genius named Tom Doner. So there are various people in America who are focused majorly on languages like English and Spanish. This boy woke up one day and told his mother, “Mom, I have this passion for languages. I wish to learn only such things and I will do my best to get into it.” His mother asked, “Why so many languages? You can learn 2 or 3 and further do something which helps you to get a job….some monetary support.” He replied smartly, “Mom….I think language has a potential with which you can touch and communicate with other people. That can’t be done by anything else….”

Now his linguistic aura includes Asian languages like Chinese, Japanese, few Russian languages, African ones also. He said in one of his TEDtalks, “The aim of my life is to reduce the linguistic barriers in the society because I think that is the reason of gradients between understanding different things.” Other than that he said, “I become some different person when I try and use some other language. I really saw things in a way and talked in a way that I never would have done in case of English.” New York is linguistically diverse city which is actually helpful for his career. He and his friends nearly study such things for almost 24 hours for 7 days a week.

Studying different languages and their he has got several guides. His father told, “I have been to Japan for several years but I could not learn the language in any way even in that period of 6 months. Now Tom is doing so much progress in a week for learning the same language is tremendous.” In the story his mother also said, “I admire his passion. The happiness he achieves after learning new languages is truly off the chart. I can understand French people slowed down and English is something we prefer to talk. Because of that other languages move apart from the scope.”

Many expert linguists said, “Tom has a very deep understanding of languages. Keeping all the languages in mind and focusing on new ones is truly difficult. He is an adroit person in the same. It is like a Mozart playing piano. Creation of something new and unique can be done by people like these. Different roots of languages he understands using various television shows and local news so that he can easily get grasp on local tongue.” Tom himself mentioned that he wants to dedicate his entire life for learning new languages, studying different regions and travelling over the globe so that he can understand the depth of those languages. Such prodigies rarely take birth over the globe and people should gain some inspiration from them.

  • Amar Gopal Bose: A hero of sounds

Amar Gopal Bose: A hero of sounds

In a young and passionate boy saw some mechanism of preparing electronic things and making them from scratch. He initially went to his mother and said, “Mom..mom I saw something in my dream and I can tell you what I saw….” After he finished his story his mom laughed and said,

“Ok beta….it’s just a dream. Nothing is real when you have it into your dream.” That sentence kind of stuck to his mind.

He knew after several dreams there is something wrong. He is different than others. Further he continued to dream about similar things. He kept on telling people that he can actually observe things like that…..but every time he got the same answer. Everyone around the globe did not believe things like this because they were thinking that such kind of concepts can’t be created. Such kind of novel mechanisms actually scared population. But that change is embraced at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

At MIT, Mr. Bose tried to implement his thought into experiments. He was supported by many in those labs they all were of the similar category. Getting into a group of genius people he was able to create the sound systems that was absent in the market. In 1956 he had a talk with his friends, “Hey guys….I am trying to make a stereo speaker system. That can change and amplify various voices.” He did not get much of a support. Further his doctorate guide Dr.Y.W.Lee supported his thoughts and made him familiar with the concept of angel investors. He got funds for his inventions and now he is creating those things on intuition.

After several years this company turned into an amazing success. In one of the talks he mentioned,

“Nothing is impossible…when my dreams can give me millions of dollars why can’t yours?

The only thing that you need to do is to believe them like crazy. That path will not be easy, there you will find many people saying tremendous things about you, your naive nature and further you lack of sense in practicality. When you pass through all these factors just remember your goal, no one stop from becoming successful. Since success is a journey and not a destination one should not think that they can easily manage to get it. It is never a piece of cake…..but you need to find right people at right time who can make your life better.” His word kept on echoing in several young minds.

These kind of Indian individuals are different from the society….different from those orthodox conventions of marriage, rituals…those people try to take their lives in a way they want and just keep on excel in the direction of their goals. Such things can be only achieved by incessant efforts and enormous focus. People like Amar Gopal Bose and many others like Sir C.V.Raman, Ramanujan and many who did something tremendous in their life spans due to the hunger of the knowledge. In my opinion such people should be there in everyone’s list of idealists. They can change lives and make them better.

  • Her Dream

    Her Dream

Today’s world is full of competition. Living in this world means that you have to earn or become famous. No one pays heed to the essence that even living is an art. Dream doesn’t meant the former two but it can be different than that. This story circles around a girl whose dreams are not big and due to her disease she has cease to change her routines and how she has define her life as worthy as others.

Lastly I was enrolled. My last two months, before the exam, which I have spent burning the mid night oil has bore fruit. The cut-off was past my grades and I was happy to get in for my further studies. When I left home to Delhi, I was not as happy as I thought I would be. Separations are more difficult than love. After a list of instructions given by my mother, I touched her feet and saw everybody, smiled and said “goodbye”. My mother just turned her face as my vehicle move towards railway station. I know she doesn’t want me to see her crying.  I know that it’s the cost everyone pays when you love someone. I was not alone. I was carrying with me aspirations of childhood dreams and also a desire to make my mother happy by achieving what she dreamed for me. After boarding the train, it take me 20 hours to reach Delhi. I already have rented an accommodation for me. So I reached and took the key from the landlord and opened the room and settled all my things. It was Saturday night and the day was the worst day as I cried more and more as I missed my family.

There were times when I thought that I would return back to home but I know it was not possible. I fell asleep at 3am, maybe, and wake up at 9 am.  The morning was rush free and I missed a lot the days when my mother comes yelling at me that I would be late for school and I just pray to God that to send my mother to school then she will no our problems. She already knows. But she knows why it’s necessary for me to go. It was for her that I was here. On Sunday I became a explorer and explore the whole area which was connected to my street.  I talked to mother and tell her that I am quite good here and tell her the whole story of how I spend the night. Though I escaped the cried part. This was the first time that I don’t want my mother to hang up. But I thought I should show her that I am enjoying here and create an assumption that nothing has changed for me, so I myself told her that I have to prepare my bag for my first day in college. As the phone was cut, everything was changed. My bag was packed already so I ate and as I have no one to talk on so I opened my cell phone and read some messages, replied and fell to sleep.

The next day was a bright day at least for me and for those who were going to be my class mates. I approached at 9:30 sharp in morning in college and was standing in front of  the noticeboard, searching my course room number.  And so I find it in bold letters History Honours with room number and the subject teachers.  After that I hurried towards the room asking the people I met in the way.  When I reached the room, there were already some of my future friends(may be), I smiled and entered, though this was I can do when everyone was watching me and when I can hear the pump of my heart. I sat at the corner bench and started seeing my phone to make others feel that I am busy. I was too shy to talk to them while others were busy in elaborating their hometowns and the adventure of getting admissions here.  I opened one game in my phone and started playing and I was till not disturbed when I felt that someone has filled the desk before me. Another incident of an increase of pumping in my heart and for we small town boys it was obvious when we see an opposite gender around us and when the number is two. My front bench was occupied by two girls and they seemed quite happy or I would say away from nervousness.

You face no difficulties when you have the same what others have but when someone seems quite close to ‘different’ then the small things become big, they seemed quite comfortable.  I asked to myself if I should talk to them or not, one salient feature my shyness was still stopping me.  I was  embroiled in myself  and suddenly one girl in my front-left turned and said, “Hello, My name is Nisha. And yours”.  I was quivering but replied ,”Manan. Nice to meet you”. It was not the first time I quivered but I considered it a ‘trait of being gentle’.  She, then, introduced me to another girl in my right,” She is Ritu and she’s little shy”. I said , “Hello”. She turned smiled and replied the same and then again turned to her former posture.  Nisha said to me,” She’s like this only. Less user of mouth”. We laughed. Following her , I thought that if mother would have been here I would have shown her that I am not the only one here who is shy but there are people who are more better than me. I took a sigh of proudness and the teacher entered the class. We welcome him and  he introduced himself and then asked about our self one by one.

After the class was over, I packed my bag and as I was leaving, Nisha called me up and said,” Wait for us.  We are coming, why you in a hurry”. I was because I have never been surrounded by strangers, a feeling that I felt during my first days in school.  But it was little more terrible as I was more conscious to it than my past one.  Some time consciousness seems bothering. I smiled and said,” Please I am here waiting for you”.  We, all three of us took a round of college and sat in the lawn and started introducing more of us, basically our hobbies and other things which I thought I should tell them.

After me , Nisha told about herself and her dream of being a writer and why she want to do so and for whom. I appreciated her, less in front but more from inside.  Such girls are difficult to find, who chase their dreams.  Dreams which more occur in sleep and less in real world.

It was now the turn of ritu. I found her quite attractive but seeing her quiet and serious, I was afraid that she does like boys or not. Before she spoke, I said to nisha,” Hey, Don’t you think we are here for some reason.

Some reason which we have to find and then finish it”. I thought this statement was little philosophical one and will definitely attract ritu. “For you it can be because you get the time for it,  don’t you?”, assailed ritu.  I was shocked and I never expected such things especially from a girl though. She left the discussion and Nisha followed her and I asked nisha if I have done something wrong.  Nisha said,” Don’t worry we will meet tomorrow, Goodbye”. I just saw both of them leaving and was still unable to find the situation which turned on me. “Nice start”, I said to myself.  I returned home but my mind was still there, figuring out her words. The cause of it was still surrounding me in  dilemma. Next day, I was late so when I reached the class was already started so I got the last seat, away from them. I saw them and there was Nisha who smiled and so do I. I started disliking ritu for her behaviour and I was away from the clue why she was doing so.

We get a break after the class so I thought to eat something in college canteen.  So I stand-up and suddenly nisha came,” Hey are you fine”. “ I am always”, replied I.  “You still angry for tomorrow’s incident”, said she.  “You don’t know the real….”, said Nisha and suddenly stopped seeing that ritu was coming. Ritu came and said,” Sorry” and then return to her seat. I turned to Nisha and asked,” Is this the way girls say sorry”.  Nisha said,” I can’t say but for ritu everyway is her last way and has no time to survive”. I said,” I don’t get it”. She said,” We want things we don’t have but when we get that thing, its no longer important to us”. “Everyone want to know when they are going to die but never thought that what if they really know it. My friend is suffering from a chronic disease which is not curable, and so she has very less time or she knows the time of her death”.

I saw ritu busy with her phone. Months passed and we have our internals.  Everyone was busy preparing but what make me think everyone was Ritu behaviour in preparation as she was really hardworking on her internals. I don’t understand why she is doing things which is not going to help her in future, a future which has known its ends. We gave our internals and when results were out she topped and I followed her.  I called mother that I came second but my mother was not satisfied, she wanted me to top, an instinct that mothers have where she wanted her children to be better than everyone but forgets that he’s your son not a machine fulfilling wishes.

I smiled and told her that next time I will. I know I could have topped but a continuous thought of ritu was making me insane. I thought I should ask her. Next day I reached little earlier in class and I saw them sitting in back bench both ritu and Nisha. I go near to them and said,” I have a question in my mind, can I ask…”. Nisha said in between,” Yes you can”. I said that the question is for ritu. Ritu turned to me and said,” What you want, say”. I replied,” You know that why we are in college”. She replied ,” Yes I know. For further studies, which will help in our future”. “ For future… You are saying that thing for future, who herself doesn’t know that she is going to die soon, are you out of your mind and you don’t know that this ‘further studies’ are not going to help you. There is no future for you”. I realized that I spoke what I shouldn’t. Ritu saw me with her eyes red and without a reply she took her bag and left the class and Nisha followed her, “You are a fool”.

I thought that I should say sorry to her. Sometimes emotions controlled you and you say what it makes you. Even good things are good only when they are controlled. I also left the class  and went searching for them. After half an hour I found in the college ground at the corner. As I came near to them, Nisha stood up and said that I should leave right now or something bad will happen. I said,” sorry, I don’t know what make me say such things in spite knowing the trouble in which you are”. Nisha said,” Go from here, get lost”. I paid no heed to her and carried on my contrition for the mistake I have done. “ You want to know why still I am doing things like these for my future which I know, cease to exist”, said Ritu.  I just nodded. “ It’s because I don’t want to be different than others. I don’t want to feel that my life scale is small than others. I, like other, want to make future plans. I don’t want to waste time on things that I cannot change”. Ritu eyes were full of tears but still unsuccessful in hiding it, she continued, “ I want to live a normal life. I want to enjoy in myself only. I don’t make too much  friends as I don’t want to make them feel missing me when I will be not here”.

Nisha hugged her and it seems that she was thanking ritu and might be saying that she will always be with her. She left me again, engaged in my own thoughts.

As days passed, I saw ritu rarely in classes, her health was also deteriorating. When preparation leave started all were busy for the semester. I also got engaged and nearly forget about it. Exams started and then ended, then college were closed for winter vacations. I got news from college website that result will be announced little late.  With the new year, the college reopened and we were again back with same schedules. There was slight change that I noticed after a week that ritu and Nisha were not present.  Later I found that they haven’t given exams, both of them. I tried to call nisha and after a while she answered.  I took a breath and asked her why she was not coming. She said, “ I have taken transfer from college”. I said,” Why ? I was surprised”. She replied,” Ritu is no more and I was there just because of her”.  I was shocked and my mouth choked, my eyes refusing to shed tears. She continued,” It’s not necessary that dreaming involves becoming rich or earning fame but it also means just living…you understand it and that’s what my friend wanted to”. She hanged up and I cried. ‘Just living’ , I thought. She really was special, a girl that accepted the reality but never altered her plans that is what most of us do.  Suddenly my phone rang and it was mother calling me, I pressed the answer button and said that I came first.
