    The Crane and the Crab

Once there lived a heron near a big lake which was full of fishes and other water creatures. He lived his life by eating fishes from the lake. Days passed away and the heron grown old. He was unable to caught fishes from the lake anymore. Day by day he became very lean and weak due to lack of food.

After few days he made a plan he sat on the edge of the lake and began to crying. After some time a crab saw him and asked him the reason of his crying. He asked, "Uncle, Why are you crying?  What is the matter?   What happened to you?’’ The heron continue his pretending and replied, "Son, I have decided that I would not catch any fish anymore. I have decided to give up all the things of the world and want to serve my rest life for God. So I undergo a fast until my death".

The crab asked him if you decided it then why are you crying now. The heron explained, "My child, I lived in this lake from my birth. And now I have grown old. I hear that this lake now will dry up because there will be no rains for the next twelve years". The crab was shocked to hear this and asked the heron, "Uncle, please tell me if it is true from where you have heard such thing." The heron continued to pretend and said, "I have heard this news from a wise astrologer. You see, there is already not much water in the lake. And very soon, the lake will dry up completely due to lack of rains."

The crab got shocked and wants to inform all the water creatures about this news. He went to their friends and narrated the entire story. On hearing this everybody got worried. They went to the heron and asked please help us to save us from this calamity.” The heron thought that my plan got work and pretending, “Surely I help you. There is a lake nearby and it is full of water. There is lot of water that I would not dry until many years. I can take you all there if you want to sit on my back. The heron had already gained their confidence. They all gathered around him and requested to carry them one by one to the other lake and save their lives.

The heron got succeeded in his plan. Every day, he would carry one of them on his back and flying a little away from the lake so nobody saw him. Then he killed them and eat them up. He would then return after sometime to the lake and tell them how they are happy in the other lake. Day by day the heron killed many of the creatures in this way.

The crab said to heron, "Uncle, you take all others to the lake but it is me who is your first friend. Please take me to the other lake to save my life." The heron got very happy to hear this all. He thought he eat fish daily it has became very monotonous. It is good to eat a crab today. Then the crab is carrying the crab to the same rock where he killed all others. The crab looked down the rock and saw the heap of bones and skeletons there. He understood what the heron done with all his friends. But he remains calm so the heron cannot understand. He said to the heron, "Uncle, the lake seems too far away and I am quite heavy. You got tired, so let us stop, you should need some rest".

The heron was so confident that he would not understand why the crab said all this. He thought the crab cannot escape from him. So he confessed all his bad deeds and said to the crab, "There is no lake here in real for real. I did all for my own meal. As I do every day, I will smash you against a rock and killed you to make you my meal for today. "

After listening this crab got hold the heron’s neck with its strong claws and got him to dead. The crab start laughing at himself that he saved himself and other water creatures from the heron. He took the heron to the lake. The other water creatures in the lake were surprised to see him back. They became curious, and asked all sort of questions. Gaga's family lived in New York's exclusive upper eastern side, but they were very far from wealthy.

After a brief time at art school, Germanotta dropped out the school and felt that she was more able than most of her classmates and that the school’s schedule was holding her back.

So he asked her father to give her money to cover her rent for a year and promised that if her music career never moved up, she would move straight back to home and attend art school again as a backup plan.

But of course she did not need a backup plan. Her singing styles and abilities immediately attracted attention from Def Jam representatives, and Lady Gaga was signed to the label in 2006.

Once again, Gaga had an opportunity, and this time she decided to waste it. She spent her next year writing songs for other artists at the company until the well known R&B singer Akon saw great potential in her when she was called in to perform as a reference singer.

Akon immediately signed her to produce her album and insisted that she partner with some of his close friends.

  • Quentin Tarantino : Another Name of Violence

Quentin Tarantino : Another Name of Violence

Violence is one of the most fun things to watch.

    – Quentin Jerome Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino was born on March 27th, 1963, in the city of Knoxville, Tennessee. His upbringing was relatively simple and straightforward. He was born to a musician father and a strong, independent mother. He had to quickly relocate himself to California after his parents separated early in his life.

From the age of two onwards, he spent his early life in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

He was greatly fascinated by cinema at an early age, so he dropped out of high school at age fifteen to make an acting career. He started taking classes during daytime and watching classic movies by night. While he was struggling to survive, he got his first job as an employee at the Video Archives rental store near his home. It resulted in one of the most creative film consumption periods of any person working in Hollywood today.

During his career at the Video Archives, Tarantino watched thousands of films and built a immense knowledge of cinema and also formed his creative yet homage-filled style at the same time. From western flicks and historical movies to kung fu, Tarantino's knowledge of cinema became an important aspect of his style, influencing stories and designs in his future creations.

Tarantino meet his future collaborator Lawrence Bender at a party and after it he started writing his first screenplay.

His first immediate success was The mega-violent and street-smart Reservoir Dogs and it’s also bringing in over ten times his modest budget. This film was financed by an actor Harvey Keitel, who would then become one of the most valued recurring cast members of Tarantino.

When people ask me if I went to film school I tell them, 'no, I went to films.'

    – Quentin Jerome Tarantino

Although Reservoir Dogs received the critical acclaim, but Tarantino wanted more and he set out to make a movie that would clearly define him as a director. After two years, his second film, Pulp Fiction, was released to universal acclaim. The film was a huge financial success and established Tarantino as a new Hollywood filmmaker that combined style with meaningful story.

After it many film hit but no one like the Pulp Fiction.

A partnership with cult favourite director Robert Rodriguez resulted in From Dusk Till Dawn, a bizarre vampire movie that wasn't a hit amongst critics. Soon Tarantino received critical acclaim once again for his first non-original script, the hit blaxploitation homage Jackie Brown, which reignited the career of former star Pam Grier.

From a struggler to on top of the world, Tarantino spent the more recent years of his career on the film projects that he was most interested in. He made a two part series based on the character of 'The Bride', a revenge-seeking bride which he invented with Uma Thurman while directing Pulp Fiction.

Later he created what be the world’s best revenge film, the hilarious and somewhat disturbing Inglourious Basterds, a bizarre take on World War II.

He also spent his time to helping international directors gain exposure in the United States, using his name and reputation to release a range of independent releases in major cinema chains.

“….feeling like they were frozen”: A Zika virus victim’s tale

Story of 21-year-old Brazilian college student Jade Coelho de Miranda, who was infected last year.

Last October, I frequently hung around a large park at my college, the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. I didn’t think much of all the mosquitoes in the area — until I broke out in a rash that covered my entire body.

    I was scared.

I told my dad, and soon found myself at a hospital, where they did multiple tests that confirmed I had contracted the Zika virus.

For the next week, I had severe muscle pain and a fever, two of the most common side effects of the infection caused by Aedes mosquito bites.

My whole body felt immobilized. I started having difficulty moving my hands — feeling like they were frozen. My eyes became irritated, too.

It was a terrible week. I couldn’t go out, exercise or do anything because the joint pain was so strong.

My pain was bad, but it was nothing compared to my father’s.

He was diagnosed a few days after me. His case was worse because it developed into a rare disease called Guillain-Barré syndrome, causing him to experience weakness in his legs and upper body.

He said he had pins-and-needles sensations in his fingers, toes, ankles and wrists for three months.

We need a vaccine now. We need a cure now — before it gets worse.

Hyderabad based Bharat Bioltech International Limited has developed two candidate vaccines from an imported live Zika virus. However, the trials on animals and humans haven’t begun yet.

  • The Fall and Rise of a Merchant

The Fall and Rise of a Merchant

Once there lived a merchant named Vardhamana. He was very rich and prosperous. He was widely known. The king was also aware of his abilities therefore he appointed him as the administrator of the kingdom. Vardhamana have the abilities to keep others happy by his intelligence. He keeps common happy and at the same time he also impressed the king.

Days passed away and there comes a day when the merchant’s daughter gets married. He arranged a grand reception. He invited king and the queen along with entire royal family. He also invited all the respected people of the kingdom. He arranged all the facilities for their guests and also ensured about it. In respect for their guest for attending the reception party he also gave them return gift.

After some time a servant of the royal palace come there and sat on the seat reserved for nobles. He was not invited in the party. Seeing the servant the merchant got very angry. He insulted him and thrown him out.

The servant felt very insulted and want to revenge from the merchant. He thought if he can do such a thing by which the faith of the king from merchant gone away. Thinking in such a way he made a plan.

After many days the servant got the opportunity. He was sweeping the floor of the king’s room. He knew that the king was still awake so he started mumbling, ‘‘Oh god what happened in this palace. The merchant has now become so carefree that he dared to embrace the queen.” The king got angry after listening it and shouted on the servant. He asked him whatever he said was it true. Have you seen it with your own eyes?

The servant starts pretending. He fell on the feet of the king and said forgive me my king for whatever i said. I don’t know what I have been mumbling. I was gambling all night so i did not sleep at night. And now i feel very drowsy. The king did not say any words to the servant but he thought that it can be true. The servant knew that he done his job. He sowed the seed of distrust.

After that day the king did not trust the merchant and filled with jealousy and anger. He ordered the guards not to enter the merchant in the palace.

One day when the merchant was trying to entering the gate of the palace guards stopped him. The merchant got surprised that suddenly what happened to the king. Why he did so. The servant was present nearby he mockingly shouted on the guards, “Ho Guards! What you did. You did not know he is a powerful person and king’s favourite also. He has the power to people arrested or released. He even thrown out peoples just like he thrown out me of his daughter’s reception.

After hearing this merchant understood the whole matter. He felt very insulted and returned home. He made a plan and invited the servant to his home. He flattened him with gifts and garments and treated him as a respectable person. He apologised for his misbehaviour of that day. He said kindly, “O friend, that day I did not have you thrown out due to anger, but it was due to you to occupy the seat reserved for the royal nobles. They felt very insulted, and out of compulsion I had to throw you out. Please forgive me.”

The servant got flattened by the merchant and felt very respected. He forgave him. He ensured the merchant that he made the king as before towards him. And the servant went back home.

Next morning when he sweeping the floor of the palace he waited for the king half awake. After few moments he got the opportunity and he started mumbling again as before, “Our king is crazy, he eats cucumber in the lavatory!”

After hearing this king got angry and shouted at the servant, “What nonsense do you talk about. Have you ever seen me doing such thing yourself?” Once again the servant fell on his knees and requested the king, “O king, please forgive me if I said something improper. I was gambling all last night and didn’t sleep. I feel drowsy and I don’t know what I have been mumbling.”

The king thought this servant is a fool. Whatever he mumbled about me is ridiculously false. Then it was sure that whatever he mumbled about the merchant was also false. It is not right to mistreat the trusted merchant. He thought the merchant has done a lot for the kingdom. He control the whole administrative system efficiently and without him it has become diminished.

Thus the king invited the merchant to the palace and flattened him with gifts, jewels and other precious things. He reappointed him at his post and favoured him as before.
