    Where the Happiness lies!

Life has forever been a turbulent voyage, yet its tempests do not extinguish the flame of hope. With this unwavering belief, Mahi continued her sojourn. She traversed the uncharted paths, a solitary traveler in search of happiness. Her hopes, indomitable, refused to shatter. Although life’s misfortunes compounded, she clung to the conviction that brighter days awaited, even as darkness deepened. Ultimately, she discovered the elusive abode of genuine bliss. Let us accompany her on this odyssey, to unearth where true happiness truly resides.

As the clock struck seven in the morning, the sun’s radiant beams caressed Mahi’s visage. She shifted her position, veiling herself momentarily from its luminous gaze. Shortly after, her alarm chimed, and she pressed the snooze button, realizing that sleep would evade her after such commotion. She recited religious verses, drawing a tranquil breath to release the accumulated frustration triggered by the alarm. Opening her eyes, she beheld her humble abode, with a small but beautiful garden adorning the outside. Illuminated by the morning light, the plants within her room appeared pristine. This sight brought immense joy to Mahi’s heart. Before she could rise from her bed, her mother’s voice echoed from outside, “Will our queen rise on this day?” Her mother had a habit of forcefully knocking on the door, a sound that Mahi detested. With haste, she sprinted to open the door, unwilling to endure the noise. Her mother scolded her upon seeing her disheveled hair, pondering how the day could possibly be good with such untamed locks. Could a pleasant day unfold under such circumstances? But what can one do? Life’s essence lies in living it. Mahi sought tranquility and found solace in the quietest place of her dwelling—the “toilet.” Spending a few moments there, she flushed away the negativity that had burdened her mood.

Mahi ventured into the kitchen, performing her morning rituals before settling down to savor a cup of tea. As she indulged in her tea, memories of last night’s argument with her brother resurfaced. Anxious that her brother’s day might be ruined, she swiftly penned him sweet messages, wishing to mend their bond. Once ready, she set off for the office, a cherished place where she accomplished the workload of four individuals, compensated by meager remuneration. Nonetheless, she relished the slightest token of appreciation, contented in the knowledge that her skills were recognized. It wasn’t that Mahi was unaware of being exploited; she simply found contentment in witnessing her own growth, and appreciation was the elixir for which she thrived. It did drain her energy, though, especially when burdened with excessive tasks, causing her to yearn for her best friend’s comforting presence. But whenever Mahi called, her friend always seemed preoccupied, a different story altogether. Nevertheless, her best friend would reach out to Mahi during work hours, requesting her assistance, and Mahi, forsaking her own tasks, would diligently fulfill her friend’s needs.

Upon returning home in the evening, Mahi pursued her passions, be it writing, drawing, or engaging in culinary endeavors within the kitchen. Her entire day revolved around the bustling chores, ensuring everyone’s tasks were accomplished to perfection, and that they, in turn, would acknowledge her efforts with heartfelt appreciation. Mahi lived for these expressions of gratitude. Before retiring for the night, she stood before the mirror, tearfully observing her reflection. In that vulnerable moment, Mahi would offer solace to herself, appreciating her own strength. It is in this act of self-compassion that true

happiness lies. Friends, irrespective of the number of companions and loved ones we have in our lives, we must always remember that we ought to be our own foremost and unwavering advocates. If we cannot support ourselves, then who shall?

  • The Five Fingers

    The Five Fingers

Days was going like nothing. Every day I woke up and thought, how to make my self happy. There was nothing happening good nor bad . Just life was going meaning less.  I always thought why I am surviving in my life. Is there anything meaningful in my life. Lots of family problems and issues, I just broking and doing my activities . Time was running and my little kid was growing.

One day there was the time when my little child started to going play school.  On the first day I was waiting for my child. There was so many ladies standing like me for there babies. The play school was only for 2 hours and home was not near. So I decided that everyday I will wait till the last bell. Suddenly I show a lady coming near me. As I am not so talkative that’s why I could not started the conversation first.  I was thinking about, is there any ladies like me who can wait for 2 hours like me . When the lady came near me and as common we were talking started. And I came to know that her home is near and there is no sense for waiting 2 hours in outside the school. But there was something happening like friendship in our first meeting. Days after we become a friend and after we meet another lady, she was different from us but something was common, like both there is happening like friendship. As soon as we become a friends, there was another ladies come near us but there was missing that ‘friendship wali feelings’. Some days after I found that there was lots of ladies who was waiting like me.  We three were not enough. Around dozens of friend we made and there was lots of fun and memories we have. Some day after just 5 to 7  friends were remaining with same zeal. But on of theme only 5 left, whose vibes got similar but there was differences also. Many Friends come to near us and gonna busy with there schedule but we few left like the schedule made for us.

The five finger are different but together. Like We are different but similar.  Life got meaning and learn a lot from them. I was not only suffering only. Here is many more difficult situations around us. There is lots of stories in us.,.

    To be continued….

  • INSEPARABLE FRIENDS: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

Once there lived a boy who was very much conservative. It was high time then, for him to leave his comfort zone and move out for his graduation. Having a humble and kind nature he was never used to say no to people for any work. Living in a dilemma of that is it good to say ‘NO’ to people but always end up saying ‘YES’ at the cost of his time and peace. He will always be concerned about other’s happiness. Even his friends always tell him to do something which he never want to do but just because nobody feels bad he always does all the things as and when said even if he didn’t wanted to do.

One fine evening he met a girl who was in the same college and was resident of that place only. They became very good friends and they both cared for each other so much that when one of them was in a bad mood the other one gets to know just by looking at them and feeling their emotion. The boy was very much shy and introvert in his initial days but after meeting her she made him learn many things. She is complete extrovert but an overthinker and he is an introvert . She wished that he could see himself through her eyes to see how much he mean to her , how much respect she have for him. YES ! This feeling is mutual. Not only they shared memories and laughter together they also shared tears of sadness and joy. Both of them being so much transparent to each other. They both made each other understand the perspective of the opposite gender. As the time passed, the bond got much more stronger.

When one of them was very much sad the other one also felt the same and would stay with each other till everything becomes alright. The boy felt very lucky to have a friend like her who was not only his friend but his teacher , motivator and she used to support him in every good and bad situation. She used to take care of him like a mother. He never told her to stop thinking but always told and proved that he’ll not let her think alone. She also never told him to easily just say no to people instead made him understand it is okay not to be okay with certain things at certain times  and  not everything was worth his time and peace . As promised, they both stayed for each other through all the thick and thin. When there can be friendship in love  why not love in friendship.

FRIENDSHIP: The love that never expects anything from each other also everything is done before expecting .

  • The Night I Fell in Love

It was 3rd April 2011, a bright sunny day with birds chirping outside, everything glittering with sunshine. Though, it was a Monday, everything would have that extra rush. Like, even the most mundane work of going to the market becomes hectic because it’s Monday, and there’s the traffic which adds up to the vows made. But it felt like everything was tuned down. Even though it was hectic, people didn’t complain, they didn’t want to ruin their moods, and a big reason for that was the hangover from the previous night, where they witnessed one of their life’s greatest moments. 2nd April 2011,  a day which was going to be written down in history with golden letters.

It was the final match of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup between India and Sri Lanka. A one-and-a-half months-long tournament was coming to its glorious end. And what better way could have it ended than to stage off a final showdown between the two host nations. The 2011 World Cup was hosted by India, Sri Lanka and for the first time in Bangladesh. And on top of that, it was a Sunday. Not a single soul could be found on the streets that day from noon onwards. I still remember during the first innings, I ran off along with my elder brother and a few of my friends to my cousin’s home nearby and requested him to draw the Indian flag on our faces. He was a painter and gladly accepted our request and did his brushwork on our small little cheeks. I was 10 years old at that time. As soon as the work was done on all our faces, we ran off to watch the match back home. It was planned that we will watch the match at our Mamaji’s place. They had a 32-inch screen TV at their home which they decided to put up in front of their house at the gates so that the passerby can catch a glimpse of the action, as well as the neighbours can enjoy the match on the big screen.  As expected, the crowd started to gather around as the match progressed and dusk began to settle. No one wanted to cherish this moment locked up in the confines of their walls.

Up until this point I was used to playing cricket as most other kids do, for fun and games. But something that night changed my outlook towards this particular sport. As a nation which worships cricket, it was quite obvious that I couldn’t miss overlooking this sport while growing up. But it was World Cup we were talking about. The last time India won the tournament was in 1983 and the recent we played the finals was in 2003 when we lost to Australia. So it was quite evident that everyone had their hopes high this time, that the boys were finally going to bring back home; the cup. And as the match was nearing its penultimate stage, my younger self experienced things which it cannot put into words. “MS Dhoni finishes off in style. A magnificent strike into the crowd! India lift the World Cup after 28 years! The party start in the dressing room” those were the exact words said by the legendary commentator Ravi Shastri when Dhoni hit the ball for a six over the long-on. And as soon as the ball landed in the stands, everyone present at Mamji’s place burst into a state of euphoria. It was a scene I have never seen before nor will I ever see and I still yearn to relive those moments. It was a once-in-a-lifetime collective celebration that one becomes part of only through the medium of sports and nothing else. So were the scenes all over the country. From the very old to the very young, everyone was out in the streets with the Tiranga in their hands waving as high as they could. And this is how at that ripe age, I came to realise what that sport meant to the people, it was more than a sport.

And when I look back now and think of those moments I realise even more that I was there, I saw it, I saw the night I fell in love.

  • The Unwanted Observer

    The Unwanted Observer

The cold wind would whisper through my room, as I’d sit on my desk in the after-hours, to study for my final exams. Maybe it was then, maybe it started before, perhaps it was always there. It was a habit for me to study for my exams throughout the night, where everything was silent, while the nocturnal beauty swept throughout. Whilst studying I would always feel someone staring, silently observing, their gaze piercing my back. It felt like someone was breathing heavily as if struggling to draw out every single breath. I would turn back immediately, only to find the narrow, dark hallway beyond my room. I would not pay it much attention and would continue with whatever I was doing. However, as time went on, I started hearing something like footsteps, no, not footsteps, but someone, dragging their feet along the hallway, coming towards my room…  closer, nearer, and right in front of the doorframe, it would stop. Chills.

One day I found my little brother, changing the light-colored, net curtains that adorned his room’s door, with a thick, deep-colored one.

Amused, I asked him, “Why the thick, dark curtains? Weren’t you always fond of light, net ones as they brought about an air of carefreeness to you?”

My brother hesitated. He said, as he gulped, “I don’t want to see whatever roams around at night”.

Hearing him sent shivers down my spine.

“So, you experienced it too… ” I said.

“Yes, and it keeps sighing heavily right in front of my door.”

Just then a sudden, loud, shattering noise was heard from the hallway. ”Clank!

“Did the chandelier fall?” My brother mumbled.

We ran outside the room. Nothing was there. The chandelier was intact, and so was everything, yet the eeriness of the hallway was palpable. We went to our father right away. At first, we were reluctant, “What if he doesn’t believe us?” We mustered up our courage and we all sat down. As we told our story to him, his expression grew more grim and more dense. Finally, he said, “Yes I experienced it too.”

“How? What happened?” We asked with dread yet relief.

Father said, “I would smoke a cigarette in the washroom, I could feel someone walking in the hallway. They would keep dragging their feet. They would take deep breaths riddled with agony. Coming towards the door, and stopping right in front of it. Feeling as if the presence is staring right through the door at me. When I’d open the door, all I could see was the uncanniness of the hallway.”

Just as he spoke, a very subtle yet intoxicating scent started spreading. Suddenly in the upper lofts of the hallway, loud and random thuds started coming. It was as if a bird or a rat was stuck inside and was going berserk. The sounds were horrifying, to say the least. Deeply unsettled, we went up to the loft. The moment we opened the shutter, everything became dead silent; only to discover that everything was in place.

Since then, right around 11:15 pm, this occurrence started to take place routinely.

After a lot of discussion, we dug deep into the history of the house. Ultimately, It was found that the previous to the previous owner had taken his own life in that hallway by hanging himself from that chandelier. He also had a foot defect that made him drag his leg to walk.

We were stunned. With the dots connecting one by one, from the heavy breathing to the feeling of a person dragging their feet; we organized a solemn Pooja and cleansed the whole house.

The feelings and occurrences stopped after that. Everything had finally returned to normal. Over time, we all grew and led our lives peacefully.

Today I am married and have a small child. We visited the house after years. Nostalgia and the bittersweet feelings of childhood flooded through. At night, after a hearty dinner, I turned off the light and sat down in my room.

    “ Thud, thud, thud… ”

“ Puchki, come here and sleep now my little angel”  I called out to my four-year-old.

As I turned my back, I saw him

  • JUST DON’T QUIT

    JUST DON’T QUIT

I was cuddling up in my blanket on a brisk winter morning. Not at all like every single other day, that day I got up before as I was exceptionally energized. It was my birthday, so I was happy. Like each and every other youngster, I also had made numerous arrangements concerning:

    • What will I do?

    • Which outfit I will wear?

    • Which chocolate to purchase for friends?

    • What to give someone in return a gift when they wish me?

Furthermore, the rundown goes on. However, I was completely unaware of the Strom that was approaching me to dampen my enthusiasm for my birthday as I planned all of those things. Sadly, that was also my last birthday celebration. Consequently, as previously stated, I arose earlier in anticipation of my birthday. Kids are happiest on their birthdays because it is the only day of the year when they can get everything they want from their friends and family.

I turned 10 today. I woke up early, put on a lovely purple dress, and got ready to meet my friends and go to school. I attended school. Every single person who was present in the classroom when I entered wished me a happy birthday. I got so wrecked by seeing all that. All that works then, at that point, went well indeed.

We celebrated my birthday and afterward, the ringer rings and it was the time for a mid-day break. My classmates and I rushed straight to the canteen. It was time for me to give my friends my birthday party. As we were eating and talking about my plans for the evening, I suddenly felt as if my heart started to cry. I simply have no idea what was going on with me. There was a colossal grin all over, yet my eyes were having tears in them. My heart began to become heavy. The only sound coming from the corridor was my footsteps as I ran straight toward it. To get my handkerchief, I dashed as quickly as I could toward my classroom.

When I got there, I saw a girl sitting alone under the bench in the classroom away from the rest of the world. I went there to find out who the girl was. What’s more, I saw my dearest companion who was my friend since I was conceived, and I saw her crying under the seat. I had no idea what was going on inside her head or what was causing her stress from the inside out. I was so worried because I had never seen her in that way before. I didn’t have any idea what I ought to do by then. I, therefore, approached her and instructed her to stand under the bench. I inquired, “What took place?” She began to weep even more strongly but did not respond. She didn’t even have the sense to say a word. I tried to comfort her, but I didn’t know that Strom was only a mile away. She abruptly took my hand and squeezed it harder as I tried to calm her down. “I’m missing your mom,” she said.

I was more attached to her mother than she was to mine, so hearing that from her side was a little odd. She had no intention of explaining anything. I was so much closer to her family than to hers. It was sounding curious to me. But I said, “OK, it’s fine,” just to calm her down. You meet her when she comes to pick me up from school. Simple…. So, please stop crying and let’s go to the canteen.

We were alone in the space around us. I was pausing my breathing just to hear something from the opposite side, yet nothing remained to be heard from her side. She finally responded, “No, I was not missing her… I was missing your real mother,” after a long silence.

“What are you discussing?” I addressed.

“Yes, you heard me right…. I was feeling the loss of your genuine mother. She passed away when you were only two days old, so you have no idea what happened. I also know very little about her, though I do recall some memories I shared with her. When I inquired about it, my mother elaborated on the events and explained why she passed away. She said so.

At the time, I was so surprised. I was having no idea of what was occurring around me. That obscure tempest I have discussed first and foremost had hit me so gravely and left me of nowhere.

My life completely changed overnight. There was pretty much nothing left equivalent to what it was a second prior. At the same time, I lost a part of myself. I kept saying that this couldn’t be true, that it wouldn’t happen, that it was just a bad dream, or that I was dreaming right now.

“TELL ME YOU WERE LYING. TELL ME IT’S NOT TRUE.”, I shouted. Tears started rolling down my neck. I had felt so senseless. I had looked towards her with a puppy face and was waiting to hear some good from her side. I started questioning her with everything which was moving around my head.

➢ How did you know all of this?

➢ Then who is my real mom?

➢ Who’s the one whom I’m calling my mom for last ten years?

➢ How had all that happened?

➢ Why my family kept it a secret from me? etc.……

She had responded to each and every one of my inquiries. The bell rang as she was answering all of my questions. We were both crying when everyone returned to the classroom. They all were attempting to stop the two of us, even the educators also. Teachers had inquired about the situation with a few of our friends, but no one knew. I recall today well overall. I had a very hard time comprehending that situation as a child. The only question that was causing me the most trouble was whether or not my family had kept such significant information from me. That day is still vividly etched in my mind. As a youngster, it was so challenging for me to figure out that. The only thing that was bothering me was my family’s decision to keep everything from me. At the point when I returned home, I had a go at getting some information about it. They basically overlooked my inquiry as though I have posed to them anything. I tried asking my father about it once more a few weeks later.

“You are extremely fortunate, similar to Lord Krishna. He also had two mothers, as you know: one with whom he was born and the other with whom he was raised.

He responded with irony. In the wake of paying attention to that response, I’ve concluded that I will track down everything about my mother on my own at this point. At the point when you had a go at finding everything about her, I got to realize that a significant number of individuals in our general public actually acclaim her to such an extent. Nonetheless, a lot of them miss her.

I was told by an elderly uncle in our neighborhood, “You exactly look like your mother.” Everything about you, including your speech, smile, hair, and eyes, resembles her. Every single person who knew her adored her. At the point when she got pregnant, numerous family issues happened, however she didn’t empty. How a little youngster joins the speck to make a lovely picture similarly and with the same guiltlessness she held everybody together. She never gives up, no matter how hard the situation is. She always finds a solution with a smile on her face.

After a long respite he added, “After when she brought forth you, she quickly got conceded due to the remissness of the specialist, a few veins of her got cut. The operation was carried out right away. Like the manner in which you didn’t have the opportunity to see her similarly, she additionally didn’t have opportunity and willpower to see you.”

“I know, my Kid what’s happening inside your psyche yet dear, she didn’t bite the dust as a result of you. It was not at all your issue. You cannot alter the fact that it was her destiny. You excessively should major areas of strength for be her. ” he added.

I inquired, “But why dad gave someone else her place?” after listening to him.

“That another person is, in all honesty, your mom’s genuine sister. Additionally, your father did not assign anyone else to her position. They tied the knot just for you. he replied. Why, then? They weren’t told to do so by me. Also, why they all are concealing this from me?” I addressed.

“All they want is to see you happy,” Why do you view everything negatively? You grumbled that your dad had concealed this from you, however, have you ever felt that if he could have informed you about this, he would have lost that lovely grin all over.” He said so.

He continued, “Have you ever thought why a Young lady, who is the real sister of my mother, agreed to marry your father?” a moment later. I’ll tell you. She did that since she cherishes you to such an extent. Your family didn’t want you to know this because they were afraid they might ruin your childhood by telling you. I had a new perspective on the situation as a whole after having that conversation with that elderly uncle.

Even as I write this, I can’t stop laughing when I think back to my 10th birthday in school and how, after the lunch break, everyone tried to stop my best friend and me from crying so hard that it took them three lectures to stop us. None of the teachers could take classes that day because they were all working to calm us down.

As a result, both of my mother’s lessons taught me that that every problem has a solution. So, keep your cool and don’t give up.

  • Finding Myself

    Finding Myself

We all are what the world, our family and the people around us make of us yet life always presents a turning page to this story of ours where we have two choices either we can be what we have always been or discover ourselves in an all new light. It’s like a new you a new world a new dimension.

Everyone comes across this in their own unique way for some it’s through love for some through an opportunity. My reality too wasn’t far and came in knocking on my doors with no prior warning but in my case it was a tragedy, a weird and twisted sort of a blessing in disguise that no one had thought of.

The innocent Bengali girl who had lived her entire life in the sheltered atmosphere of her father and then husband, who was always taught that this is how it has always been and it will always be.  Marriage had to come at the top spot in a women’s ambition.

It was around the year 2014, my husband came in earlier from office then usual with a grim expression on his face something was amiss. I quickly silenced the kids and asked them to go play in the garden for sometime. I knew that there had been some tension in his workplace for quite some time yet today felt different. I walked into the room with a glass of water and asked what happened. He told in a dejected manner that his company has been having lay offs and this time it was him.  I took sometime to gulp down the hard fact. We had two kids to raise, living in NCR on single income and now this big blow, how will we be able to pay the installment of the home loan. What was to become of us, what would we do….

A thousand questions clouded my mind………………

Some time later when we had absorbed the shock of all this, we considered our options. It was decided that my husband would hunt for a new job while to support the family I too should start working, but what would i do with the kids so young, Teaching one of the biggest female employments of the country sounded right. The conditions were just appropriate.

All our savings were invested in my teachers training as I had only done my masters in science and never dared to opt for a profession and had got busy in marriage and domesticity.  When I started off I had my own set of doubts too will i or will i not be able to do this.

Nevertheless I started training our routines started to change bit by bit every day, my kids were taught to be more independent day by day.

    4 years later………….

Time flied as if it was just yesterday, I completed my training and got a job and started contributing to the household. My husband too found another job, my children grew up my elder one who was in 4th is now in 8th and is involved in a plethora of extracurricular activities my baby the younger one who was just in class1st is now in 5th and is a school prefect. All is well now except that I have changed, the journey, the exams, the studies, the colleagues changed and made me think in ways that I never thought  I could.

I had seen how a woman’s life was to be dictated by the society, throughout yet there are so many who break the glass ceiling every day for themselves, their families, their parents and kids.

I had learnt to appreciate that there was nothing wrong with living life on one’s own terms.

I had started seeing the greys, the dark side of the relations that surround us, the decisions are elders forced on us deeming right.

How it was taught that  apex selflessness defines and is the skin of women at it’s core. I realized on stepping out of the shade of the men in my life that we are all complete individuals and had the whole right to choose and decide for ourselves , how it is completely appropriate for women to prioritize themselves if it improves their well being and empowers them to take good and better care of them and their loved ones.

Most importantly I had learnt  to let the wings grow, a lot of people lose themselves on this defined track of life by the society. We all are unique in our own ways yet get lost in mediocrity by the environment that dictates us what to do. At the end happiness is all that matters.

  • SHE CAME AS RAIN

    SHE CAME AS RAIN

The story starts with a 22 year young Lee. She was a beautiful soul who used to embrace things around her in a blissful way until one day when she started vomiting blood fluid from her mouth. She was too scared that moment but gathered some hope and told this incident to her only parent, her mom. Her mom took that in her stride and got Lee checked from her nearby hospital. After few days, when the report came it was shocking for Lee’s mom as her child was suffering from Blood cancer at stage 4 condition. Lee locked herself in the room crying and blaming God that why this mishap is happening to her and she also has some dreams to live for. She called Ryan , her best friend and told about this in a very low tone. He didn’t answered and hung up the call. After a while , there was a knock on the door and Lee noticed that Ryan showed up at her home. Lee ran towards him and hugged him tightly accompanied with her sobbing. Ryan moved his fingers through her hair lines, making her calm. Lee’s mother was watching from the backdoor but she stood still to give those friends their private moment.
Ryan was acting strong and he didn’t shed his tears in front of Lee as it would exacerbate the pain and the  whole scenario according to him. Lee asked Ryan to help her fulfil her last wishes before the day arrives and to this Ryan was mentally and emotionally ready.
Next day, it was heavily raining and Lee called Ryan asking if they could have a walk on the streets. Ryan agreed to her without any questions. Ryan came first and he was holding his umbrella and was looking for her friend until he saw a glimpse  of a girl who was drenched in the rain , without any umbrella approaching towards him and later recognized that it was Lee. She took his umbrella and threw it in air. They both held each others hand and started walking in the streets. At that moment , Lee asked her that after her death , will he made a new best friend like her. To which he replied their is nobody like her and nobody can replace her space in his heart as her ‘only’ best friend and that he would miss her a lot. Lee decided that it was time to tell Ryan her wish and she said whenever rain is going to drizzle from the heavenly sky, just assume it that it is Lee who is showering her love from the heaven. Ryan promised her that he would definitely do that for her.
Lee and Ryan continued their visits  at each others home and after few months Lee was admitted to hospital and she was kept on the ventilator. It was June 18′ 2007 and Ryan came rushing to her ward. When he came their, he became cold and still to watch her friend in the agonizing condition. He sat near her and held her right hand. Lee clumsily opened her eyes and said that it is time to bid her farewell with a bright smile while giving him a squishing hug. He became emotional and hugged her immediately and suddenly he noticed that her pulse became constant and she was not responding anymore. He was shattered to see that she died in her arms with a smile. All of a sudden rain started drizzling and Ryan came out of the hospital and remained still to absorb each and every essence of that moment.
