  • Flickering faith

    Flickering faith

“Don’t you ever show me your face again.” My wife yelled at me.

“Don’t worry darling I will never be back,” I yelled much louder than her. We both had a furious fight. It was our routine to fight on different petty topics. It was now like having a meal; it was so common for us. But this time, I thought let us finish this up. I want a divorce, that’s it. I called my lawyer.

“Nithin, prepare the divorce papers as quickly as possible,” I said in anger.

“Are you sure inspector? I mean maybe you can patch up with your wife once again. If you want I can even provide a marriage counselor.” He was my friend, he wanted good for me. He never wanted this divorce to take place. Just because of him, I was able to withstand this marriage for 4 long years.

“No Nithin, I want you to prepare…..” I had to stop because my phone has put the other caller on hold. “I will talk to you after a minute. I have some work to do. But see to it, you will take my side during the court proceedings” I cut the phone and picked the other caller.

“Yes, Raghav what happened.” Raghav was my junior inspector.

“Sir, one girl has committed suicide here in Malad area.”

“Oh, you proceed. I will be there within a few minutes.” I said and left.

    *******

“Sir, an overdose of sleeping pills.” Raghav showed me an empty bottle of sleeping. Girl’s body was lying on the bed and her parents were weeping and shouting her name. I tried to console them. But all went in vain. It was difficult for them to accept the death of their only child.

“Any suicide note or something?” I asked Raghav. He gave me a letter. It was her suicide note. I started reading it.

    *******

I still remember that first smile we shared while looking at each other in our relative’s marriage. I still remember our conversations on Facebook. I started with ‘Hi’ and then you took over the conversation for hours and still when we meet face to face, we both pretended to know nothing about each other. It was a fun exercise for us.

Eventually, we became best friends of each other. We shared every joy and every sorrow. We were like a single soul in two different bodies. We loved same movies, same food, same kind of music, we had everything in common. Even in the night when my mobile’s screen lights up I remember you and found your name flashing there.

I don’t know when this friendship turned into love. I tried to tell you but was afraid to lose our friendship also. I knew that you also loved me, but you never took a step forward. I waited for you until the end. But when I heard about your marriage talks, I felt like losing you. That’s why I told you everything I felt about you. You said nothing. It was heartbreaking for me. You didn’t talk to me for so many days, I thought that I lost myself!

Hope you will be there for me in my next life.

    Yours Lovingly,

    Disha.

    *******

Aditya was his name, her boyfriend’s name. When I send Raghav to his home and told him about Disha’s death. Aditya family was in shock. They said that they were planning of marriage of Disha and Aditya. Aditya wanted to give a surprise to Disha. Then Raghav heard a gun shot. It was from Aditya’s room. Aditya was dead. He shot himself.

    *******

I was stunned, after seeing the love of Disha and Aditya. I always thought that love only exists in stories, not in real life.

I loved her, my wife. The first thing which I remember after seeing the love story of Disha and Aditya was the memories of my love with my wife. Yes, we fight but that’s our way to show love to each other.

That day I entered my house and went to the kitchen beside my wife and hugged her. She allowed her tears to flow down her eyes and she smiled with happiness. And I was equally overjoyed.

I wished for the reunion of Disha and Aditya in heaven.

  • The Cross Border Relationship (Part – 2)

The Cross Border Relationship (Part – 2)

Now this was the tricky part of their relationship which they knew would cause problem one day as both of them were aware that even if their respective parents agreed to this relationship (about which they were still in denial mode) they had to figure out a way of getting them together and make them understand each other better, basically find out a path of making this marriage possible which at the present seemed to be in a blur.

So they decided to eradicate the problems one by one and the first thing that they agreed was to make their parents meet and then move on to more – bigger problem. Maushik and her family came to the Boy’s city to meet his parents, whereas the next time Aditya’s parents went to the girl’s city. The parents of both the sides talked about everything including the cultural differences, the deteriorating conditions etc. and developed an understanding as well as respect for each other and now they had no complaints, questions or problems regarding the marriage except one, that where will this marriage take place and how? The worsening political situations in both the countries now made it really difficult for getting a long term visa for the other country let alone marriage. Moreover, the girl’s stay with the boy after marriage was still a question as they had to find out a method to get the girl the country’s citizenship so that the boy and the girl can live together after marriage. Parents of both the sides were simple living middle-class people who did not have any connections in the system and this worsened the situation.

Now, what should be done? Should they forget each other and move on due to the problem in between their countries? Or should they fight? They decided to do their best on their level and arranged meetings with many different department people and heads with the hope of getting this solved, all of them just gave false hope and never really did anything. All this created a serious confusion among the families. In frustration, Aditiya and Maushik both wrote this problem on Facebook and other social media websites seeking help. And one fine day a kind person replied to them seeking the details of the bride and demanding more information on the topic. That day was the best day in their lives and it literally changed the lives of both of them. The person made sure that the Visa problem was dissolved as well as the citizenship solution was also provided.

Aditya and Maushik were indebted to the person forever. Despite thanking the person a million times and asking for a meeting they were never really able to meet and thank in person.

In all these years a lot changed. Maushik got her citizenship and now could live even more happily. Both of them had a kid and the second one was on its way. It looks like everything worked in their direction.

  • My Only Dream

    My Only Dream

I was only five year old nerdy boy, wearing spectacles like potter and carrying my favorite Britannica kids, which Dad got for me from AMAZON.IN (where he worked),when i saw her.
Cheif HR Manager , Mr. Vikas Ahuja, thats what people called him. I used to vaunt a lot as a kid that ,ooo my dad works in AMAZON,the top most online shopping site(though i never spoke much with other kids, i was a fellow nerd as i said before),but I never understood my 32 year old dad wanted something else from life.
My mom, Mrs. Malini Ahuja, left her dream of being an Interior Designer and could only design her own house, and later died with this hope of seeing my four year elder sister Diya Ahuja being India’s Top Interior Designer up from the sky.
My school life had been terribly boring, before i saw her wearing a blue shiffone saree with golden beads at the borders ,teamed up with a black sling bag and a good pair or black stilettos.
I could not take my eyes off her, I was in my honeybee group, when my classteacher,Mrs SS Mota, screamed my name so loudly that she immediately turned towards our class and i could see her flawlessly beautiful face.
“ISHAAN AHUJA, what are you upto? You want me to call your father? Remember i know him very well and your sister,I have taught her too, so beware me.”- SS Mota was screaming but i was still looking at her.
Her big beautiful eyes with some black kohl and dark mascara, attracted me towards her. Her lips had a still smile ,painted red and those cheeks,OH MY GOD, they did’nt need any rose blush, because they were peachy and flawless.
“You Rascal. Not even listening to what i am saying and looking there outside.. “-SS Mota came and pulled me up by pulling my ear,(trust me ,it hurted a lot). She stopped in between her warning when she saw her .
“Ohh hello, these kids. They irritate a lot, haha! New to the school?”- SS Mota took away her sharp words in one sip of rum and throw out another face of her infront of her.
“Yes, I am MALINI,MALINI ANAND, i have joined today as a staff teacher for Rosemarry Group”-She spoke with her beautiful honey voice. I could see her being a little nervous for her first day, but Gosh! Is it a miracle?, Her name is Malini,Malini Anand or Ahuja, whatever it is, she was Malini.
She came inside the class. SS Mota stared her in an unobvious manner.I wanted to talk to her but she immediately spoke, “Hello little champs! How are you all? You all look so cute!”-She giggled by herself and looked charmingly at everyone.
“Ahhh! these kids disturb me a lot. You know what, Rosemarry group is very sensible as compared to them. Its like a curse to be the class teacher of such rascals.”-SS Mota gave her denial approval about us.
“But ma’am , sorry to say but these kids don’t look the way you are saying, i mean just look at them.. Such bright eyes, such innocent faces, cute!!”-She showed her intense emotion towards us, and the best part, she completed her sentence by coming near me and saying CUTE to me.
SS Mota gave the weirdest smile ever.
Inside me i was screaming, THROW ME TO ROSEMARRY GROUP PLEASE.
    GAMES PERIOD
It was our games period and everyone was busy playing . Some were playing with a soft ball.A few students were fighting for there chance on the swings and bunch of girls were forcing a few of there boy friends to be a part of there house-house game.I thankfully managed to slip from the ground or else i could have got the auspicious chance to be the SILENT MAN of there game.
I don’t know what energy had came in me that i became that clever and sharp to run away from their. All i could see was the staff room where i could see MISS MALINI.
The moment i entrered the staff room, SS Mota called out my name,”ISHAAN , what are you doing here? Why not playing with your friends?Want a scolding from me.?”
I completely ignored her. My little dreamy eyes were in search of Miss Malini.
She was not there. But SS Mota called my name again and before she could stand from her chair, I vanished.
    ***
That evening was very tough. I was’nt able to concentrate on my favorite cartoon also. My sister was busy with her science model. My granny was in he kitchen preparing dinner.Granny called me out but i was busy thinking about her. I was so desperate to meet her.To see her. And to tell her that….
“Ishan, are you not listening to what Amma is saying? She had called out your name twice. And what are you doing you have split all the chocolate sauce on the table, are you mad?”-My sister lost her paitence , she broke all her stress of not able to make the model and scolded me.
I felt bad, even i was not in my sense and i broke into tears.
“OHH little boy, Diya, why are you scolding him? What is your problem?”-Amma scolded Diya of my behalf.
“Amma, look at him, tell him that he should respect you and listen you what you are saying and ..”-Diya di gave her explanation but amma stopped her in between.
I felt a little bad for di, when she ran in her room.
The drawing room was busy with all the stuff like thermacols, scissors, glues, glitter sheets and yes, unfinished project.
Amma went to her room , knocked, but she did not opened. We could hear her crying.
Dad came home with Diya di’s favorite strawberry flavour icecream and for me and Amma, our favorite Rass malai.
“Amma always supports him.Why dad?”- Diya di cried out. I secretly listened to the conservation when dad went inside the room to call di and ask her to have her icecream. Amma went back to the kitchen to serve dinner and to make di’s favorite Fried Aloo.
“No bacha! she love both of you equally. Its not like she give preference to Ishaan and not to you.. Its just that Ishaan is a small boy and he had seen so many things in such a small age.You were quite grown up when mum left us all alone, and Amma is just taking care of both of you.”- Dad tried to pamper her.
“DAD .. I MISS MUM SO MUCH ! I really do .. i wish she was with us, “- Diya Di said with hard tears in her eyes.
I had not seen hers but mine made me feel the same.
“I miss Malini too, but we can’nt get her back in our life , right?”-Dad exclaimed.
“WE CAN WE CAN.. WE CAN!”
    “WE CAN!”
    “WE CAN!”
MY HEART WAS SCREAMING SO LOUDLY.I WISH I COULD RUN INSIDE AND TELL DAD TOO!!
“Ishan? what are you doing here? come”-Diya di saw my shadow and called me inside .
“I have not listened to anything, I swear, I SWEAR MUM..”-Before i could say anything furthur, di pulled me forward and hugged me.I literally felt her tears on my shoulders. That was one of the most emotional moment. I noticed Dad, he also had tears in his eyes. His eyes were looking at mum’s photo in di’s room.
I MADE THE BIGGEST DECISION. I WANT MALINI MA’AM AS MY MOM IN MY DAD’S MY SISTER’S LIFE.It had been the need of the hour.
But the biggest problem, why would MALINI Ma’am would like to marry dad?
OK ! It was time to know MISS MALINI’S DEMANDS. But before that i have to know more about her.Would i be able to do that alone?
May be not, afterall i am just 5 year old nerd , whom no one likes to talk.
DIYA DI? Definetly she would help me in this Mission !

    NEXT DAY-
“Excuse me ma’am? Can i come in?”-I nervously entered the rosemarry group class, where Malini ma’am was teaching.
“Yeah sure come in dear, Tell me?”-She very confidently asked me.She looked more beautiful just like my MOM.She wore a peachy coloured saree with open hair. She very polietly asked me,”You are that same boy who was getting scolding from SS Mota Ma’am yesterday, if i am not wrong , ha?Tell me, you don’t look naughty at all tho!”
“Ma’am Miss Mota hates me, can i please be a part of rosemarry group?Please?”-I literally begged infront of her, afterall i wanted to know more and more about her.
“Ohh son, i wish i could, you are really cute and sweet, but i alone cannot decide. And what is the problem with honeybee group? do miss mota scolds you everytime?”-She showed her concern towards me, and i felt it like a blessing!
“She always treats me like a nerd and everyone else do.I love this book which my father gifted me, and everyone thinks that i brag about carrying this book all the time. Its not like that,i love this book and hence my dad gifted me this. You know what my dad is now the HR manager at the Reliance ltd. and he is the most loving and caring father by heart and the most handsome person on this entire planet and he is also avery good guitarist and he like to ride horse and ..”-I got emotionally blowed out and bragged too much about dad.Though he is actually a superfather but i wondered why Miss Malini ould be interested to know about dad,but she enjoyed it and had a constant smile on her face.OH MY GOD, that smile.I later controlled myself and said,”Why would you listen about my dad,I am so stupid, but the point is, i want to be a part of rosemarry group”
“Hahaha you are suoer duper cute lil boy, I surely would take it as an action. But i cannot directly ask Miss SS Mota to declare you to be a part of rosemarry group, even she should agree to this, then only i can do anything. We can do one thing, we can ask your parents to talk to principal and change your group to Rosemarry .Whats say?”-I could feel the excitement on her face to see me as her student .
I was preparing my kind of meal in my head that even she loves me and she also wants to be my mom.
But i had no clue, was that in anyway right or no?
    AT NIGHT
“Yes this is Mr. Vikas “-Dad got a call from someone the moment he reached home at around 8:30pm
“yeah, my son Ishan, what have he done?”-Dad looked at me and i looked confused.Who could be on the call?
Diya Di came to me and asked me what have i done ?! But even i was’nt sure who was on the phone.
For a while, i thought, it was SS Mota because obviously Malini ma’am would have asked her to shift my class from honeybee group to rosemarry and she furiously would have said A BIG FAT NO and now ad called dad.
But dad looked relaxed .He was’nt even looking at me.I was even more surprised.
After a complete 4 minutes 20 seconds conversation on phone and billion hours conversation in my mind dad hanged up the phone and said,”Ishan, why hav’nt you told me?”
This was the moment i thought all my plans were flopped.Dad got to know everything.EVERYTHING.
“Tell me? why hav’nt you told me that teachers are shifting to a new group?”- dad polietly said.
Wait what? my group is changing? i will be a part of ROSEMARRY GROUP!! YIPEEE!!!
“I had no idea about it dad.Who told you?”- i curiously asked, tho i knew it would have been Malini ma’am only.
“Amm , some Malini.. Miss Malini, Malini ma’am “- even dad was not comfortable with the name.I knew how he would have felt when he would have heard the name first, i was pitty sure he would be very happy to meet her too .
“Your teacher’s name is Malini? “- di asked very curiously, even she got really happy to listen the name.
I realised it was now the right time to tell her about my dreams.
“YESS IS’NT IT BEAUTIFUL?”-I was super happy.
“Ahh, ishan its just the name, by the way i’ll have to come to your school for re filling the form, till then get into your room and sleep”-dad

    NEXT DAY
DAD CAME TO SCHOOL. MET THE PRINCIPAL. MALINI MA’AM HAD ALREADY TALKED TO THE PRINCIPAL.BUT WHERE WAS SHE? SHE WAS NO WHERE.
“So? I guess i should go now! Amm ok “- dad asked me, but i could see that his eyes were finding Malini ma’am.
Even i felt that dad should have met her and then it could have been so easier.
I prayed to god for sending her. Oh .. within a minute my wish came true and i saw Malini ma’am in the corridor. She looked exactly like mum.Mom’s favorite red coloured saree with black blouse and tied hair.I could seriously feel that she had been made for dad only.Dad was busy on phone. Both had not noticed each other.
Now what to do?It was time to push dad!!
I literally did, ahh but failed Dad scolded me but not noticed ma’am.
God was still with me, Malini ma’am noticed me and said,”Ishan , hi dear how are you ?ready for being apart of rosemarry group?”
    “Yes ma’am always”
“Hi, how are you?”-Malini ma’am asked dad.
What? She asked by herself.Dad droped his phone.
“Yeah! You are Miss Malini!?”-Dad asked confusingly while adjusting his overcoat.
    I FELT REALLY HAPPY.REALLY.
“YOU DID’NT RECOGNISED ME RIGHT?”-Malini ma’am asked suspiciously with a decent regular smile on her face.
“AMM, SORRY! I SAID YOU ARE MISS MALINI, ISHAN’S NEW TEACHER AND…”-Dad gave his explanation . he still looked confused.
    MY EXCITMENT ROSE!
“I guessed so.The moment Ishan told me about you i recalled you,Malini yrr, your motu!!”-Malini ma’am said.
Her statement literally shocked me.MOTU?WHAT WAS GOING ON?
“Oh god, Malini, ahh,… haha look at you! So different ahahaha .. how are you?”-Dad looked so happy.
THEY WERE CONFUSED.HUG EACH OTHER OR JUST SHAKE HANDS WITH. PROFESSION CAME IN BETWEEN CHILDHOOD FRIENDSHIP.

BOTH OF THEM COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT ME. IN MY MIND I WAS EXCITIDELY SCREAMING,GUYS I WAS MORE EXCITED THAN YOU BOTH,NOTICE ME TOO!!
“SO YOU ARE HERE! YOU REMEMBER I HAD FAUGHT FOR YOU TO MY PARENTS THAT NOO I WANT TO BE WITH VIKAS. I DON’T WANT TO GO TO CANADA! HAHAHA, THAT USED TO BE SO HILAROUS”-Malini ma’am recalled each memory. She looked really happy.
    I FELT BLESSED
“Ofcourse i do.Hey why don’t you come hope. It would be so much fun. And even my elder daughter , Diya and ma would be happy to meet you.And we can share our thoughts , problem , ups and downs like we did in schooldays.”- Dad claimed. Now that was much beautiful.
SO BASICALLY IN TWO DAYS I MET A PERSON WHOM FIRST I THOUGHT SHE SHOULD BE MY MUM AND FOR THAT I PROVED MYSELF TO BE THE MOST HELPLESS CHILD.TURNED FROM A NERD TO A FELLOW NAUGHTORIOS BOY AND NOW FINALLY WHEN I SEE MY TWO BIRDS TOGETHER I AM WONDERING ,Will they be giving me credit in any way afterwards?
“I could but,”-Malini ma’am stopped in between. She was about to say something but stopped.
“No but and all . you have to come. And now we have got this chance to meeting each other after ages. I am running out of time now or else i would have choose to sit with you and talk as much as i could.”-Dad was extremly happy. Afterall it was his childhood friend standing right infront.
“AMM, ok i will!”-Malini ma’am agreed with a sweet sigh
    I FELT SO HAPPY
“Wow childhood friends!”-I had to say something. I cannot pretend to be a dumb and deaf boy standing right their and speaking nothing.
“YEAH!”- BOTH OF THEM SAID TOGETHER AND THEN LAUGHED.
I FELT YIPPEEE. I DID NO EFFORTS AND THEY WILL BE TOGETHER SOON.

    THAT NIGHT-
Amma was being asked by dad to prepare variety of aloo, coz that was what dad remembered Malini ma’am liked. And was technically like a aloo as a child.
It was like a celebration in the house.
I TOLD DIYA DI EVERYTHING ABOUT MY MIND.
    SHE FELT HAPPY.
“Ma, have you prepared kheer? Its Malini’s favorite, you remember how she used to swipe away every bowl when you used to make it.”-Dad was so excited.
EVEN ME AND DIYA DI WERE.
AFTER AN HOUR OF DEEP STUGGLE IN KITCHEN DAD PREPARED THEIR CHILDHOOD’S VERY OWN DISH CALLED VIKAS MALINI SPECIAL ALOO ANDA BURJI FOR MALINI MUM, NOW IT WAS THE RIGHT TIME TO CALL HER MUM.
Malini ma’am came home. She wore blue coloured churidar kurti and salwar with open hair and simple yet elegant makeup. SHE LOOKED FABULOUS.
She came in. It was a beautiful night. She had dinner with us . dad and malini mum talked so much, shared there childhood memories and had so much fun.
I WAS’NT ABLE TO GRAB THE FACT THAT WE HAD JUST MET. AND IN THESE TWO DAYS EVERYTHING JUST CHANGED SO BEAUTIFULLY.
    HAPPY ENDING.
NOW I TOUCHED THE GOD’S FEET. GAINED SOME COURAGE AND WENT TO THE BALCONY TO ASK FOR THERE MARRIGE, WHERE THEY WERE TALKING AND HAVING KHEER.
    “So ?”-i said
EVERYONE LOOKED AT ME. DIYA DI SURPRISINGLY.
“What happened dear? Come here, you know what vikas, ishan looks exactly like my son, i mean …”-Malini ma’am said but stopped in between
I DON’T GET WHY WOMAN HAVE THIS TENDENCY TO STOP IN BETWEEN THE CONVERSATIONS. WHY?
“So tell me about your marriage?”- dad asked. He looked as if he had a hint about her marriage.
“YOU ARE ALREADY MARRIED? AND EVEN HAVE A SON? YOU DON’T LOOK LIKE?”-Amma gave her gesturs. Her expressions completely told she was having the same thoughts looking at these two friends the way i did.
“Ma .. yes, but she is now Divorced, i mean,, should i ?”-dad said but stopped . his step was aright step of stopping unlike every women.
“Yes aunty, my husband is in Canada, and my son, he stays with his Dad only. I actually told vikas about it in the afternoon only because i am searching for a good lawyer for the custody.. so i asked vikas for that, to help me out .. and”- Malini ma’am said
SHE DROPPED ME IN THE MOST CONFUSED ZONE. NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO/ASK HER TO GET MARRIED TO DAD?
NO BAD IDEA! SHE WILLEVEN STOP BEING FRIENDS WITH DAD. THEN WHAT. IT WAS TIME FOR AN EXPERT ADVICE . FOR ME MY EXPERT WAS LIMITED TO MY FOUR YEAR ELDER SISTER.
“Hmm, its really tough. I think we should drop this idea.”- diya di gave her thoughts.
“no no we can’t .. i mean, no completely no. We need to make some nice plan.”- i disaggreed with iya di’s idea and though something new.

    NEXT DAY
“Dad i think we should help Malini ma’am, is’nt it?”- i asked this curious question to dad at breakfast table.
    Diya di looked at me.
    Amma looked weirdly at me
And dad, he gave no expression and said,”i will see on that, finish asap , i will drop you school today”

    AT THE SCHOOL
“Malini, trust me i had worked entire night on this but MR CHADDA is the best best lawyer practicing in canada.”- Dad was having conversation with Malini ma’am in the staff canteen. I sneaked in to listen what they talk.
“But you know na, he is a family friend, and then those weird questions, aghhh”- Malini ma’am said.
I AHD NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON , ALL I WAS CONCERNED WAS THIS MEETING BRING THEM CLOSER AND THEY BE TOGETHER, ACTUALLY WE BE TOGETHER FOREVER !!
“Amm, ok fine if you are there, and you agree with that, then i am good too”-Malini ma’am agreed. She touched dad’s hand and smiled.
    BOTH LOOKED SUPER CUTE.

    AFTER 3 MONTHS
    IT WAS THE BIG DAY.
    THE COURT DAY.
IT WAS TIME TO BRING THE LITTLE CHAMP KRISH BACK HOME AT THE SAFE PLACE WITH THE RIGHT PERSON.
AFTER 4-5 HEARINGS THE BALL CAME IN OUR COURT, DUE TO INSOLVENCY MAHESH UNCLE, MALINI MUM’S EX HUSBAND WAS NOW A BANKRUPT AND COURT ALLOWED MALINI MUM WHO WORKED AS A TAECHER IN KINDAGARDEN SCHOOL AND THE RIGHT PARENT FOR A 1 YEAR OLD CHILD.
Malini ma’am’s stuggle to get her child back fulfilled.
In these 3 months we had also came closer each day. And not to forget, even dad was coming closer to malini mum.
AND NOW MY FRIENDS IT WAS THE RIGHT TIME FOR ME TO OFFICIALLY DECLARE THAT I WANTED THEM TO BE TOGETHER AND THATS WHAT I DID.
AT THE CELEBRATION PARTY I SAID,”DAD CAN I ASK YOU SOMETHING?”
THIS I SAID IN BETWEEN EVERYONE.
“Yes ofcourse, tell me”- dad asked me calmly.
“WILL YOU PLEASE MARRY MALINI MA’AM AND MAKE HER YOUR WIFE AND OUR MUM ?”-i polietly asked.
Though their was silence for a couple of minute and then something amazing happened.
MALINI MUM WENT ON HER KNEES AND PROPOSED DAD TO BE HER HUSBAND. SHE DECLARED HER LOVE FOR HIM.
WHAT ELSE. DAD SMILED AND WE HAD THEIR WEDDING A MONTH LATER.

“NOW TODAY AT THEIR 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, I COULD ONLY ASK THEM TO BE TOGETHER FOR THE NEXT THOUSANDS OF YEARS,COZ LOVE IS ENDLESS AND I CAN SEE THAT IN THEIR EYES.
I FEEL MY MOM , UP FROM THE SKY HAD SEND MALINI MA TO BE WITH DAD AND WITH US. TAKE CARE OF US. GIVE US SUCH AMAZING BROTHER AND HELPING HER DREAM OF SEEING DIYA DI AS THE TOP INTERIOR DESIGNER COME TRUE.
IN THE END I WOULD JUST SAY I LOVE YOU BOTH AND THANKYOU FOR MAKING MY ONLY DREAM COME TRUE.”
    CHEERS EVERYONE.
    THANKYOU!

  • ‘her’

    ‘her’

Another drink will help, well, maybe it should help. He filled up his empty glass and gulped it down his already burning throat. ‘Pain kills pain’, he thought. He smiled with teary eyes. Once the burning of his throat stopped, that same pain came back from his pounding heart. The weight of someone’s memories, some unfulfilled dreams, promises & desires, all together on his heart. He could feel the painful heaviness. He felt the need for another drink.

He took the bottle & tried to empty the already empty bottle in the empty glass to fulfill his wish of letting ‘her’ go out of his heart.

He felt pity for his foolishness. Tears fell down his red eyes. He heard someone sobbing from the next room but ignored it. He had much to worry about other than that sound.

Balancing himself, he tried to get up from the couch on which he had spent the maximum of his time after getting married; at least he made himself believe that. The symptoms of being in an unhappy married life.

Somehow he walked up to the corner table on which laptop was eagerly waiting for him. He had sleepy eyes but still, wanted to see something else other than the bed.

He logged on the laptop and opened up the secret folder where his life was hiding from the world.

    ‘This folder is empty’.

He closed his eyes when realized what he had done a few days back. The question was not that what he did was right or wrong but the question was, what could be the remedy of it? How he’s going to let ‘her’ go. How?

He looked around, a room with memories, those quite and calm sleepy days and naughty nights; there was no feeling, there was nothing that they had left to share with each other, except that one photograph on which his gaze finally got fixed upon. Photograph of his marriage. How badly he wished to see ‘her’ instead of her.

He wanted to cry, or rather howl in pain and let everyone know what he is feeling right now but he stopped. A promise stopped him, a promise of never crying. ‘How cruel you are!’ He thought and smiled in pain.

Finally, he decided to hit the bed next to the lady whom he never loved but got married in hope of moving on in life, just like ‘she’ did. He was not angry at her, how could he ever be? He was just following the road that ‘she’ paved for him but nothing worked for him and may be, for ‘her’ too.

He looked at the clock, 2 ‘ o clock, time to sleep. He forwarded towards the bedroom where his wife was still sobbing. He felt bad for her. Three or maybe four lives may get destroyed because of one illegitimate love. He had to let her go and give his wife what she deserves.

He grabbed her from behind while falling on the bed next to her, rubbed her wet eyes and when she turned, he faked a smile too.

He could see ‘her’ in his wife. He knew he was hallucinating but still hugged her tightly and asked the Almighty, ‘How can I let ‘her’ go!’.

Running Out of Reasons – Chapter 3.

    *Rachel’s Point of View*

“Wake the boys up if they aren’t up already, they have an interview at 12,” Lexie ordered.

Lexie was the head of our team, she would supervise me and let me know everything I have to do and correct me if I went wrong, she was a bit strict but she was the only one to keep me going.

“Yeah, I was just going to,” I replied and she smiled.

“Okay, I’ll get their breakfast ready,” she said and walked out.

I walked up to Malcolm and Ashton’s room and just hoped they were awake, I mean, Ashton would be awake because he was more of a morning person. But Malcolm was especially annoying in mornings. He was annoying all the time but a bit too annoying in the mornings.

I knocked their door and Ashton opened it, thank god, he gave me a smile and greeted me, “morning punk” he said.

I rolled my eyes at him and his new weird nicknames for everybody everyday. I don’t even know how he was able to come up weird nicknames for everyone. “Morning,” I smiled back at him, “Malcolm?” I asked him.

“Hmm, he’s in the shower,” he replied.

“Oh good!” I said, “after he’s done, go down for breakfast and I’ll tell you about your schedule,” I explained.

“Sure, see ya then,” he said, a bit excited to know about the day.

No matter how rude or immature or stupid these guys were, they loved their jobs. And they surely loved their fans, even if they’re going somewhere and they get mobbed, I hardly see them complaining. Its almost as if they were happy that so many people want to see them, meet them. When they spoke about their fans, they get so protective. It was cute and funny because Ashton would really go out of his way and shade those who insult their fans, it was really amazing. I mean, how many celebrities do you find like these? Who are actually thankful to their fans and love them truly.

“Rachel?” Ashton snapped his fingers and got me back to reality.

“Uh, yes, see you!” I finally said and got out of there.

Caleb and Luke. Uh, the most annoying and most immature ones. They were always late. Always. They would always sleep late, specially the day we had practices or interviews or morning performances and then get late. And they were so rude because all they would do is put the blame on me and how I did not inform them, it was really stupid and mean, but I didn’t mind them because everyone in the team knows how they’re all still kids.

Their door was open and so I thought maybe they were awake and ready and I didn’t have to knock, right? I mean, the door was open and that was like a free invitation for everyone to go in.

I entered the room and the first thing I saw Luke Simons’ huge body, he was bending down and searching for something. And he had nothing but a pant on. No t-shirt.

“Shit!” I mumbled as I covered my eyes, but I did not entirely cover it because I wanted to see his shameless reaction of me seeing him in an underwear.

He flinched and turn behind, he was embarrassed and blushing, “What the hell! Couldn’t you knock?” he stood there not knowing what to do.

“Couldn’t you shut your door?” I said as I turned the other way round so I couldn’t see him.

“Wait, I was searching for a towel, stand like that! Don’t move!” He panicked out of embarrassment.

I assumed that he finally grabbed a towel and was settled with having it around his upper body, “what happened?” he finally asked.

“You’ve got a good body,” I joked as I turned to him.

He was blushing out of embarrassment and I couldn’t deny how it was so cute. It was adorable, “anyway,” I continued, “get ready and come down for breakfast.”

“Okay,” he said, “by the way, you look really good today.”

“You’re still not getting to date me,” I smirked, “but thanks.”

“I don’t want to be your date, I want to be in your heart,” he grinned at me.

    “Clichè” I replied.

“No, seriously! Don’t tell me I don’t look so perfect standing there in my branded pants,” he joked.

    “Whatever,” I rolled my eyes.

“Stop doing that!” he snapped at me.

    “Rolling your eyes,”

I rolled my eyes just to annoy him, “fine” I muttered.

“But, seriously. If I wanted to have just wanted one date with you, I would have done that long back,” he said rather serious this time.

“Let it go, Luke” I replied.

I felt really bad but I wasn’t really in love with him, or liked him even a slightest bit, actually I hated him and I really want him to hate me back but it was so not happening.

“Look, I’m serious! I’ve been watching love movies lately, I’ve been creeping on those ‘I love you’ accounts and those cringe blogs on tumblr, could this be love?” he batted his eyelashes at me.

“Is there something in your eyes?” I asked, ruining his entire moment.

“No,” be replied, “I was trying to be cute.”

“Oh,” I said, “come down for breakfast when you’re done having a shower” I said as I walked out.

I stopped at the door and turned to him, seeing his eyes longing to have me, “Luke ?” I called out.

“Yeah?” he said suddenly getting out of his thoughts.

“This is not love, this is obsession” I say to him.

“Well, we might just be playing with lighting,” he raised his eyebrow at me.

“I don’t want to be fired, so no, thank you,” I replied.

“Well, good for me, I can still look at you and be around you,” he shrugged.

Gosh, he was so weird, I thought to myself.

“Anyway, we’re all waiting for you guys,” I said and left.

Reason 4 to not date him: He was creepy.

  • The Little Squirrel

    The Little Squirrel

Once there was a sweet little girl named Sofia. She lived near a beach which was filled with palm and coconut trees all over the beach. She used to live on a coconut tree which was far away from the beach and was very tall. The leaves were very heavy and green. The bark of the coconut tree was very flexible and strong. The bark was also waterproof so she decided to make her house with the bark of the tree and thought to cover it with the palm tree leaves so that she could get protection from the sunlight, rainfall for any other season.

She was poor and she lived in a tiny hut made out of coconut leaves. Now Sofia was a kind girl, so she went to it and stroked its head. “Dear squirrel,” she said when she noticed that it was hurt, come with me, I’ll make you feel better. “She took it home and fed it well.” Then she bandaged the wound and she told it to go back to the woods if it wanted to.She said this expecting it to leave but it stayed with her. Sofiya was surprised. Anyway, she always kept the squirrel with her. She loved it and it loved her. They were together for the first three years. They had fought in between which only made their love stronger and deeper. They took care of each other, their needs and lived for each other happiness. It has been 5 years now that they both have been living together.

One day, Sofia went out to get some nuts for the squirrel. The sky was completely dark and was filled with clouds. The clouds were roaring as something is going to happen. The wind was blowing at a very high speed. She somehow managed to get out of her home. And it started raining like cats and dogs. The rain was so heavy along with the wind blowing that she could evenly walk.

Suddenly something happened. The lightning struck a nearby tree and a voice came from her house. It was Harry, he was the most notorious one in the place where she lived. A naughty little boy called Harry, who had been having a walk in the forest, kidnapped it. The boy took her to the jungle where he tied her with ropes and mistreated her. The boy was very unkind to the squirrel. He did not feed the poor thing. One day when Harry went to school, he ran away to find his little mistress. Meanwhile, Sofia was worried about her little pet. She looked everywhere for it. She was very sad.

One day, as Sofia was making some honey juice, she heard a nibble at the door. When she went and looked, there was the little squirrel, all worn out. So he brought it. The squirrel thought that it was very lucky to have such a good mistress and was very grateful. The squirrel was extremely happy and delighted. After that, they lived happily ever after.

Parents of both the sides were simple living middle – class people who did not have any connections in the system and this worsened the situation.

  • The four letter word

    The four letter word

It is so hard to get over a person! Feels like that the person is always watching our actions, always eyeing us, making us more vulnerable because they know we are. Nothing is permanent, everything is temporary, even after knowing it all we willingly get in the rut. It feels like you are breathing their absence. Sometimes one gets so weak, that one becomes numb, neither can one talk nor cry nor express in any other way. The weakness is what makes us all worse. Why would a prostitute do such a job? Because she has some weakness, which she can fulfill only by prostitution. How strong can a person be? Is a prostitute or a gigolo ever asked by her/his flat mates how she/he is? It is very rare that a person would stop and ask them whether they are fine or not. But they are miserable, their eyes speak for them, they lead such a painful life, yet they hold their head high and do what they do.

Is it wrong to love? Is it wrong to dream? Is it wrong to involve emotions? No, it is not!

It is never wrong to live, we live a little every day, some in fear, some in pain, some in despair, but we all do. When a man leaves his woman knowing that she will be happy with someone else, he does it because his satiation lies in her smile, though his happiness lies in her being with him, but happiness cannot be achieved at all times. It is rare that people find their happiness and inscribe it into their life-stone. When the effect of love binds a person, it is like your soul is trapped in a box, it is like your eyes are wearing out, and your mind is giving up. But when the same love leaves your soul, you feel nothing! You feel destroyed, yet stronger, lively, yet bolder.

Love is a very strong feeling, not many might understand but you can also feel love for things which do not have life, a baby girl’s love for her Barbie, or a baby boy’s love for his toy car. Love can sway you through tornadoes, but you would just feel wonderful enough just by the idea of its existence. For those of you who haven’t experienced love, you are yet to experience the most wonderful feeling, it feels awesome and out of this world. The moment you feel for somebody unconditionally and you could cross limits to make that person happy, you would know what you are into.

The best part is your mind stops and your heart takes its place. It isn’t normal to smile once in a while just when the thought of a person crosses your mind, it isn’t normal to forgive a person even after you are hurt pretty bad several times by the person, it is more than normal because it is extraordinary. We all know how hard life can be, but do we know how beautiful life can be? Love conquers all- a million dollar saying, tells us that no matter what we can conquer anything by love.

One might say let’s conquer the terrorists by shoeing them love. I would say a terrorist isn’t in the position of understanding love anymore. The terrorists have so much hatred and disgust in themselves that they are just able to decipher their darkness and that is what is the outcome and what defines their actions. Love can still conquer them but first they have to be calmed down.

Love is such a small word with such a deep meaning. Once this little girl was passing across this street beside the market, she saw a girl her age busy collecting the packets from the corners of the road. She immediately felt sympathetic and wanted to offer something to the girl. But she had nothing, instead she made a deal with her mother that she would buy the girl some food, in return she wouldn’t shop for a month. The little girl had a heart capable to love. Not everybody is capable enough to love, but everybody is capable enough to be loved. So when you are loved try to cherish it, and if you are in love try to love with all your heart, never feel afraid or left out, someday your love will do wonders you could never imagine.

  • The Cross Border Relationship (Part – 1)

The Cross Border Relationship (Part – 1)

This is a story of two people who are in love with each other but are separated due to the boundaries of their countries. This is a story of Aditya and Maushik. Both of them led a pretty normal life before they met each other.

It began way back in 2014 when Maushik visited India to attend a conference organized by the company she worked in, this was the first time when she met the handsome Aditya who was present at the same conference. Apparently, Aditya was the owner of the organization that helped to organize this event and was instantly attracted to him. Aditya, on the other hand, noticed her too and thought of developing the friendship though he knew that she belonged to another country, still he went ahead and started to chat.

    “Hey, how are you?”

    “Good, good. What about you?

Their conversation continued for the sometime till the conference ended and the result was a plan to meet over coffee at the restaurant of the hotel after the conference days were over, to which Maushik agreed. They kept seeing each other and a special kind of bonding was developed between them, they loved each other’s company. There was something about the both of them that the other person found attractive, maybe it was the difference in their cultures, their talking style or etiquettes etc. whatever it may be they both had a feeling for each other which none of them had experienced before and they partially knew that what it was but were reluctant to express it.

Soon the conference ended and the people started departing to their respective countries but both of them did not wish to separate. Nevertheless, they got each other’s phone numbers and promised to talk over skype, chat and what not, they wanted to keep this relationship alive despite knowing the difficulties that thy were going to face in the future due to their countries.

A year almost passed by and they had been in touch since.  Aditya had surprised Maushik by visiting her country on her birthday, this strengthened their bond even more. Now after so much time Maushik had visited his country and Aditya had visited her country plus they had been talking continuously on their mobile phones and through skype etc. It was time to take this relationship a step further. None of them have told about this to their parents but now they were confident enough to face the consequences that they knew were going to catastrophic.

That day they had a long talk on how to tell their parents about it, both were very confused and were scared a bit but somehow they worked out their way and chose a plan to break the news. And as expected, the reactions were horrific. Both sides had tons and tons of questions that were cleared by the couple but none of the parents approved this relationship majorly due to the bad relations between the two countries that would not allow this to happen.

  • SRIRACHA

    SRIRACHA

The clattering sound of the rain against my den’s windshield woke me up from my much needed respite . It was yet another dream to add to my plethora of spooky nights. I was stranded in the lands of unbeknownst, the winds were humming as I tasted the needled cold. The ever growing pine trees all around dwarfed me while the thick bed of fresh snow beneath my knee high snow boots, nearly collapsed with every alternate step leaving me with a fainter heart. The sun sneered at me while he faded away with my hope.

With the gray cast sky,and a closing in storm, my vision was at it’s best I must say. I could see the gargantuan walls of a possible castle less than a few yards away. The snow blotted with fresh blood left a trail. I was in grave need of shelter for all the obvious reasons. I began to trod towards it, along the ground profile which was no better than my “social life”.

My dad’s third transfer in the last couple of years. If you’d let alone the financial stability, we were no better than a bunch of vagrants. He was never home or maybe I was used to the idea of him not being. The new school was totally welcoming as my mother liked to put it. I should tell you that I was a mediocre and no stud kid .Being the timid kid I am, getting bullied was more of a pastime. I had to make sure that my mom never got her hands on my blood stained handkerchiefs. The only thing that gravitated me towards school was the “psychology lecture”.

Professor Steve Hughes was a cool guy. Listen up, he was also a celibate *shush*. His lectures were mostly awe inspiring. More than often we used to talk about interesting things, criminal psychology, hypnosis and lucid dreaming, were a few worth mentioning. I was totally pumped up to practice lucid dreaming the moment I learnt about it. He helped me big time. I used to go to his place and spend quality time with him. We’d talk about world , space , time and beyond. I’d started to idolize him. Wait. Is that my father?

He was smiling at me across the asphalt as the truck crushed his skull before my eyes. He was reduced to a gross mass of meat.

If Professor Steve was my dad, my mom?

My mom started bobbing her head like a hen, but wait she was a hen! She was now pecking the grains at my feet. A man laced his hands with mine. He had a cock on his tee shirt. Sriracha’s worker? My heavens! Sriracha’s sauce tastes like sauce! Of course , it’s sauce!

The sauce left a trail. Some nimcompoop had spilled it.! Idiot.! To my surprise, the castle was nothing but Sriracha’s! The whole god damned factory! The owner gleefully looked at me and passed a crate of fresh sauce, while I was trying to absorb reality. But reality?

I woke up to the clattering sound of the rain against my den’s windshield. Sixteen years had passed since I last shared a plate of french fries with Professor Satish Hegde in the IISc canteen, and he had mentioned how much he loved Sriracha sauce that I had brought him from Thailand.

He had adopted me from an orphanage when I was six, and made me the man I am today.

He shouldn’t have missed his radiotherapy sessions over eating fries with me!

    PS:

The thing that really intrigues me is

    Who am I?

Who narrated the story to me?

Is my brain exclusive of me?

How was there an element of mystery and surprise when I spoke to myself?

Am I being oblivious to myself?

Do brains live a life of their own in incognito!
