  • Goal of Human Life

    Goal of Human Life

Once a saint was explaining man what is the goal of human life. The man though has all wealth he does not have happiness in his life. The thought of the saint starts as such “A human being has higher intelligence, the power of discrimination and he can inquire about the cause of suffering and the destination of life. But the Real Problem is: – Common to all: No one wants it: No one can avoid it:-they are Birth, old age, disease and death. Miseries are caused by One’s own body & mind, natural disturbances, problems from other living entities. Material advancement is not the solution to the real problems of life. Modern technological advancement gives only temporary relief and no permanent solution. Modern solutions only give rise to other problems.

Saint says “I want to list you the paradoxes of life .Now a days we have taller buildings but shorter tempers ,wider freeways but narrower viewpoints, bigger houses but smaller families, more conveniences but less time, we have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge but less judgment, more experts but less solutions Moreover we have:-More medicine   but less wellness, multiplied our possessions but reduced our values, conquered outer space not daring to conquer the inner space, cleaned up the air but polluted the soul. Man has advanced to the level to split the atom but not our prejudice. Now a day we have higher incomes but lower morals. We have become long on quantity but short on quality. We talk too much but love too seldom, and hate too often. We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life, we’ve added years to life, not life to years.

All the technological advancement has let us all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We spend more, but have less, we buy more but enjoy it less. These are the times of tall men with Short character, steep profits with shallow relationships. We do always aim for world peace but lag to concentrate in domestic warfare. We have more leisure but less fun. We enjoy more kinds of food with less nutrition. A family now a days has two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses with broken home. It is a time when there is much in the show window and nothing in the stockroom. Humans are searching for the right thing in the wrong place.

The goal of human life is to inquire about a permanent solution to the real problem, Permanent relief from all miseries. An eternal life of BLISS, PEACE and HAPPINESS. Therefore we have to inquire about the root cause of all causes and the source of everything. Man is keen to know the conclusion of all these inquiry; the only conclusion could be the supreme soul of god ahead. The saint concludes by saying that one should inquire into the supreme. Serve the lord and enter the spiritual world with no miseries, with only peace and happiness surrounded.

  • Mother Goat & Her Ten Children

Mother Goat & Her Ten Children

This is a story I used to hear a lot as a child. From this story I learnt that we may not be stronger than our opponent but determination can move mountains. And also to never underestimate myself for my power lies on my will.

Fierce dry winds blew on the rocky mountains of Chile. On those mountains in a cave lived a mother goat with her ten children. There was neither food nor water nearby. Mother Goat had to come all the way down to the foothills to get sweet green grass and water for children. Mother Goat used to often bring her children down to the clear stream for bathing and drinking water. One day, a big bad wolf spotted the kids but he dare not approach for he was afraid of the Mother Goat and her enormous antlers. From then on, every day the big bad wolf used to hide behind a bush, salivate and watch Mother Goat and her children. Mother Goat had learnt about the presence of this wolf. So, she cautioned her children asked them not to come along and instead stay in the cave. She asked her eldest son to latch the door and not to open it to anyone except her.

Few days went like this. The children fastened the door tightly until their mother came with food. Meanwhile, all these days the wolf hid behind the bush but could see no trace of the children. Day by day his greed turned into a hungry wrath. He could wait no more for the children to come down to the stream. He followed Mother Goat uphill all the way to her cave. He hid behind a boulder and heard Mother Goat calling out to her children, ‘children, I am your mother; I have brought fresh food for you’. The door opened and she went inside.

The next day, early morning, Mother Goat set out to collect food. The wolf had hidden the whole night behind the boulder for the mother goat to leave. The children had bolted the door and were playing inside. This is when they heard a knock and a husky voice calling out, ‘children, I am your mother; I have brought fresh food for you’. The kids were sure that this voice is not of their mother so they kept silent. The wolf then banged the door hard a few times but of no use. Furious he left. The kids narrated to their mother the whole incident when she returned. She was happy with the children but worried about the wolf. The next few days the wolf spent chalking out a plan. He tried to break the door but futile effort so he again pretended to be their mother. This time the youngest boy said, ‘you cannot be our mother. She has a sweet melodious voice and you have a husky grumpy voice. You are a bad bad wolf!’

He needed to sweeten his voice. He started cracking his brains a way out of this mess. Suddenly an idea occurred to him. He decided to eat the sweet alluvial soil by the river to sweeten his voice. Next day, at dawn he filled himself heavily with the soil to sweeten his voice and started his journey upwards. But his full stomach had made his hiking hard. By the time he reached the cave it was near eve and he was all worked up. He called out to the kids in the sweet voice and the kids mistook him as their mother and did the blunder of opening the door. The wolf burst in and started swallowing up the kids. He was so worried that the Mother Goat would arrive any minute that he even did not chew the kids. He just gobbled them up. Only the youngest one got saved as he hid behind the cylinders. The wolf then hurried his way back downhill.

Later on when Mother Goat arrived she was shocked to see the disaster. She started calling out to her children but none responded. Finally, the youngest child came out from his hiding and told his mother what had happened. She grabbed her little one and went to the foothills in search of the wolf. She found the wolf in deep sleep on the brook bank. He had a huge stomach and his snore echoed in the breeze.

Slowly Mother Goat approached the wolf. She cut open his belly and one by one her children started jumping out. The children were very happy to see their mother. She asked all her children to bring her lime stones from the river bank. As the children brought the pebbles she started filling the empty stomach of the wolf with them and then stitched it up. She gathered all her children and went back to her cave.

The lime stones had started absorbing all the fluids from the wolf’s body. The wolf woke up and started drinking water. But no matter how much he drank his thirst could not be quenched. The more his throat dried, the more his stomach grew big. The big bad wolf was punished with death.

  • MAKAR SANKRANTHI

    MAKAR SANKRANTHI

Story is all about the significance of Makar Sankranthi in India. It is the short and sweet conversation of son and his grandma where grandma explains the importance of auspicious Makar sankranthi festival from the puranas to the scientific reason of flying kites.

As a child, I could only remember this day as the day when I had a holiday at school and enjoy flying kites with no worries of getting scolded. Various sweets are made and distributed among the near and dear ones. Most of the sweets are teel barfi, teel laddoos, peanut barfi and much more.

Now, when I am 18, I was thinking,” what makes Makar Sankranthi so much famous festivals that our Indian system cherishes with great entertainment?”

I asked my Grandma about it.

She said,” Makar Sankranthi is one of the famous festivals that our Indians’ cherish with great fun. Makar Sankranthi represents the end of winter.

It is considered auspicious by people of all states in India is Makar Sankranthi. Makar Sankranthi is the harvest festival which brings happiness to farmers. Farmers are ready to harvest their long awaited efforts. Makar Sankranthi also marks the end of winter season.”

I asked,” Dadi, Why it is known as Makar Sankranthi?”

Dadi was sitting on her favorite chair.

She took my hand and made me sit down nearby and started explaining keenly.

She said,” ‘Makara’ means Capricorn which is a zodiac sign and ‘Sankranthi’ means sun’s movement (Uttharaayan) from one sign to another. So if we club it together, it means sun’s movement towards Capricorn.”

I asked again,” I have observed that the date of this festival remains same each year, unlike other festivals. Is this not related to our lunar positions?”

She said,” The traditional Indian Calendar is based on lunar positions but Sankranthi is a solar event. Dates of all Hindu festivals keep changing as per the Gregorian calendar, the date of Makar Sankranti remains almost same, every year on 14 January. Makar Sankranti is celebrated as per the Hindu calendar month of Magha.”

It was getting excited to explore the significance of this day, noticing this Dadi elaborated it more.

She said,” After this, the day starts becoming longer and warmer and thus the chill of winter declines.

The festival of Makar Sankranti is associated with much cultural significance:

    • The Puranas state that on this day Sun visits the house of his son Shani, who is the swami of Makar Rashi. This day symbolizes the healthy and lovely relationship of father and son.
    • It was on this day when Lord Vishnu ended the ever increasing terror of the Asuras by finishing them off and burying their heads under the Mandara Parvata (Mountain). Thus, this occasion also represents the end of negativities and beginning of an era of righteous living.
    • It was this auspicious day, most awaited by Bhishma Pitamah lying on the beds of arrows, who was blessed with a special boon of choosing his own death time. It is believed, whoever dies during this period achieves salvation.Taking a holy dip on the day is also considered to cleanse sins committed and this will lead to Moksha (Salvation).

Apart from these, it is a religious belief that Makar Sankranthi is beginning of the holy phase. Good things start to happen after Makar Sankranthi.

This auspicious festival is observed in a different name with little differences in rituals and customs in the states of India.

In Tamil Nadu as “Pongal”,  Kerala as “End of Sabarimala Pilgrimage”, Allahabad as “Khumba Mela”, Gujarat and Rajasthan as “Uttarayan”, Assam as “Bohali Bihu”, Karnataka as” Sankranthi”, Orissa as” Makar Mela” and many more.”

I asked,” Then what is the significance of flying kites?”

She smiled and answered, “The festival spirit is showcased by flying the kites as high as possible. The real excitement lies in cutting in the kites of others.

The more you cut the kites the more is the gain for you in the coming year. Anyhow the cutting is for fun but never means a bad competition. The scientific reason is, during the Season of Cold, Human body suffers and sometime gets infected with some disease like cough and cold and the dry Skin during. When Sun moves From Dakshin Ayan to the Uttarayana, the rays of sun play the role of medicine for the human body during winter.”

After knowing all this, I was excited to share this with my friends as I sure that even they won’t know this much information about the auspicious festival, “Makar Sankranthi”. I took blessing by offering Teel gud to dadi and ran out excitingly to share my gained information saying loudly,”Teel Gud Ghiya, Guod guod bola.”

  • The princess and the dragon

    The princess and the dragon

The story is a different take on the classic stories of love and how good conquers all. The style of writing is that of a ballad.

    It’s about a story

“The dragon approached the princess, while she stood bound by the chains of rust, put around her by the men of right and wrong, drenched in their sweat of lust, she stood there crying as the dragon moved to claim her, no other prince and dare no knight would come, thought she trying to blame her.

But only so much could she do, so much had she done, for a story ending in front of her eyes, in the eyes of the dragon had just begun.”

“Did the dragon eat the princess? Was she gulped and forgotten” asked the little boy hiding behind the big woollen hat.

“The fire had the princess, and the dragon had his pain. Her skin wasn’t forgotten, neither was the dragon an evil being” I explained.

Not all monsters are blood thirsty and not all prince are trust worthy, there is just so much there in this world and just so less our eyes can see. So ,

“Hold on to the rock you sit above, tighten your hat and prepare for love.” I spoke.

“Monsters love too, and their pain is no Joke.”

“Why must you discuss love with pain, there lies no meaning in your shattered chains” he exclaimed.

“My story son,” I told him “not every tale ends the same.

The heart that breathes you today, I must tell, has held tightest hands with our fellow pain.”

“All ears” said the young lad, fixed his seat and thus fixed his hat.

“The dragon was in love and had been in her dreams enough.”

“Dreams!” said I playing with words.

“Nightmares is what the princess would scream about,

nightg and nights when he would often dream about.

    Her.”

“The dragon had his heart fit in his tail, a stern quiet creature with a scary face. Every child in the village would whimper of his name, he hadn’t done anyone harm , yet him they blamed. For the wicked men of the black knight had put the village to fire , the princess was their victim and her , they did acquire.”

“Fire is a weapon of the creature of the dark, with his anguish , our village has he flamed with an evil spark.” They impishly declared.

The villagers ran to find him, and the dragon slept unaware.

For he had been wagging his tail to sweep the earth that stood beneath him, as he dreamt of the princess and then a mysterious thought had creep in.

“Oh my princess. She stands in danger. Sold by her prince , with the black knight’s gold to exchange her.” He knew.

“I must fly now, for she may be crying to be saved

I can rescue her and she’ll see how well behaved,

Is the creature of her nightmares

And maybe she will no longer be scared.”

He flew , he flew and reached the den. Bound by chains she stood. Surrounded by the evil men.

One by one he flamed them all, and cleared her way

“Come with me princess, I have come to take you away.”

“I shall not go with you,

You are a monster, that is all you are

And my prince awaits me in my kingdom

He will save me , stay afar.”

Said she as the dragon fell to his knees

    He had heard about pain

But this was the first time

    When he came to feel.

    “ I apologise princess

    I will fly back now

    Confessing my love

Won’t help me now.” He said and got up

Was about to turn back to leave, but felt a thrash , fell to his knees .

A mob of angry villagers, led by the greedy prince

Had chopped off his tail, which perplexed in a distance.

    He fell , breathless

    To her feet

    She looked at him

    And begun to leave.

The dragon died, and the princess had been freed. The prince got the gold and the princess, despite his greed.

And that is it, a tale of love and pain, you say it makes not much sense, must I explain.

Most beautiful of things come with a price to pay, and the price comes with words to say, to the people we love the most, but their words too, come with a price to pay, we pay the price, and the price is pain.

  • THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE TODAY

THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE TODAY

It was Sunday morning, a day when parents are more worried about their child while for children it was another independence day but for me it was more than a day of an increased time with friends on playground. After taking breakfast I ran out of house and crossed the road though I heard my mother yelling that I should be back before noon but I pretend that I don’t heard her and went to the park where children’s were waiting for me. As I entered the scene they started demanding of what they want to hear from me.

It was not a new thing for me. Every Sunday I go to park to tell story to children who lived in slum areas. I don’t know what they got in hearing stories from me but as the story reaches it’s end I learn many things from them. Life is no easy for them but their smile in such situation led even the mighty to take proud on them. I took a sit with them on the ground and said that their story is ready and I was quite sure that the story of tortoise and hare and their race would definitely attract them. It has attracted children in the past too. And as I began how their race started and how tortoise started slow and then in the middle of the race hare thought to took a nap as tortoise would take time to reach him and suddenly he fell asleep while tortoise slowly reached the finish line.

After completing the story I told them the moral of story in grandiose manner that ‘slow and steady wins the race’. However after every good story their is one important element that is, the positive response of the crowd which is listening to you. But this time it was little different and the first sign I got was from a kid who was sitting in the last row and he said, “Is this story helpful in real life”. I replied in affirmative. “Not possible” came from another boy sitting in another corner. He continued while I was thinking of what was going to come from him,” My mother told me that the world has become competitive and for slow ones the life has become troublesome if we are not fast enough then there would be another person who will grab the opportunity before from us”.

It was unexpected for me though I agree that things are unexpected only when we never expect it to be. The another boy also jumped in the discussion and said that,” I have never seen someone with less talent being first. Even in our school the best ones are praised and are encouraged and weaker ones are not even heeded”.

The story is taken from Aesop’s fable and was based on principal that success is not the monopoly of talented ones but even untalented can achieve success through his persistence.

I replied,” It’s true that the world is witnessing massive competition but there are examples where even a weaker ones have shown their ability”. I continued,” It doesn’t matter who comes first but the thing matters is the completion of the work. Even we come first but the work is not properly done or there were chances that if we have given some more time, it would have been better.

Then doesn’t we decreased the quality of our work”. I considered it one of the best reply of my life. It was best as it had silent him. Something is best only when it had silent the crowd or it had won it. I was wondering which were the reason for the silence. It was a silence of that one second after which clock strikes 12. The response was away from satisfaction.

The first boy assailed,” Nowadays no one wants good but best ones in their side. I work in hotel and even if I want to, I cannot left my job because it is the only source for filling my stomach. In school I always try my best still I don’t get what I desire. How can this story help me?”.

I replied, “Here the story definitely can help you. You shouldn’t lose hope and continue your effort to follow your desire”.

The argument ended from his side. It was already noon and time for dinner and so I told them that we will meet on next Sunday and said goodbye to them. In way to my home I was thinking the coexistence of the story with today’s life style of the poor ones. The boys last word were still echoing in my mind,” Sir, It’s a story just to tell, a legacy to pass but for this contemporary world where even the less talented, with money and muscle power are achieving what they desire and even talented ones are not getting what they want. So the persistency of untalented, who has already experience all of these, seems fragile to him.

The best definition has been altered and is composed of most talented and most influential one”. I know the story has no fault and was still helpful but this discussion has left me with one thought that Isn’t the race between tortoise and hare, a discriminatory one. An adaptation to a lesson gone wrong in the way it is told.

  • Believing Yourself

    Believing Yourself

This story relates to mostly all of us at some point in our life when we would have felt so low but this story would help you fight against that fear and will help you to trust yourself. This is the story of very simple girl Kavita. Being the youngest of all siblings she was pampered by everyone in her family. Anything she demanded was presented in front of her.

Although she was a daughter of a small shopkeeper but her father was very supportive and never let her feel inferior in any manner but he had only one dream for her was that he wanted to see his daughter dressed up in Police Officer’s uniform but he never imposed his dream on her. As she grew up she also decided to be an Officer of Police.

As she grew expectations of her family also grew as she was a bright student and everyone thought that she will become an Officer and make her family proud. But slowly and gradually things changed and she became more inclined towards sports. She gave importance to her studies too but couldn’t give 100%  attention to her education.

One day she went to a Saint with her family who had a lot of faith in him but she believed in herself and not in Saints. That day he insulted her very much in front of her family members because she simply said to him that, “I believe in making my own fortune and I know that the god is within me and he will help me whenever I need him. I don’t believe in just lying back in the couch and waiting for a miracle to happen instead I will give my best.”

Listening to all these words he got angry but didn’t show it and insulted her by saying that she can’t do anything in her life and becoming an Officer will never happen in her life. That day she decided to make her own destiny and prove to that Saint wrong especially in front of her family who gave up on her to be an Officer. So, she started to study harder and made her ficus clear. Her father believed in her and through his support and her hard work she became a reputed Police Officer and proved everyone wrong and that Saint too.

She faced failures too but those failures couldn’t stop her from reaching that point in her life where she wanted to be. So, this story just proved that having belief and confidence in yourself can take you to those heights where you would have imagined yourself to be.

    Always believe in yourself.

  • Know how to live your life

Know how to live your life

God once called a man through Whatsapp. Man asked who was that .The reply was “This is God, as I heard your prayers I thought to have a chat with you.” But man replied he was busy, but he don’t know what was he busy at, he says his life is hectic with no free time.

God understands his problem and says that he has come to resolve man’s problem on time by giving some clarity. When man asks why his life has become so complicated god replied, “Analysis makes your life complicated. Stop analyzing life. When you analyze you surmise. Rather believe so that you can achieve.” The next question put forth was then why are people constantly unhappy.

God replied “your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday, you are worrying because of analyzing. Thus worrying has become a habit”. Man cried, how can not worry since life is uncertain, God says for humans uncertainty is inevitable but worrying is optional. Man says uncertainty causes pain. God says pain is inevitable but suffering is optional. Man asks then why do good people suffer?

God’s golden word goes as so “Diamond cannot be polished without friction, gold cannot be purified without fire, similarly good people go through trials but do not suffer.

With that experience their life becomes better not bitter. Also good people see opportunity in every adversity, the opportunity that turns them towards me, the God.  Experience is like a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lesson next.

These tests are beneficial rock blocks that enhance your mental strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance not when you are free from such tests or problems.” Man wants to know where he is heading in the midst of such problems. God clears his route by asking him not to look outside, because when he looks outside he dreams when he looks inside he gets awaken. Eyes provide sight but heart provides insight. Man enquires how to stay motivated in tough times god advices him “look how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing not what you are missing”. Man asks god what surprises you about people. God replied “when people suffer they ask ‘why me’ but when they prosper they never ask ‘why me’. Every one wishes to have truth on their side but few wish to be on the side of truth.

Man laments he cannot find the reason why life is, god’s reply was not to use his tiny, immature brain to philosophize and speculate why life is etc., that is only going to frustrate him, instead use such questions to understand the goal of self-realization. Man wants to know how he can get the best out of life, god’s advice was “face your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and prepare for your future without fear”. At last man wants to know why some of his prayers remain unanswered. God ends with his priceless words “There are no unanswered prayers.

At times the answer is no.” Man feels so delighted and looks forward to start his new day with a new sense of inspiration. God wishes him “Keep faith and drop fears. Don’t believe in doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is not a misery but a discovery, discovery of love happiness and true peace. Trust me life is wonderful if you know how to live.”

  • ONCE A DUNCE, NOW A PRODIGY

ONCE A DUNCE, NOW A PRODIGY

THE STORY REVOLVES AROUND A BOY WHO WAS A SLOW LEARNER BUT HIS URGE AND HUSTLE TO PROVE HIS METTLE MADE HIM A SENSATION FOR MILLIONS.

Aviral ran in haste towards Aditya’s house when the news broke out that the IIT-JEE results were out. There was an intense blend of feelings including nervousness, excitement and a puny fear as well. Adrenaline rush was at its maximum for Aviral as he scorched through the streets to reach his friend’s house as none other of his acquaintances had a desktop with an internet connection at that time.

His eyes were appearing to be a treasure for any poet due to the immense and intense amount of emotions which were brimming up to his eyes. Almost there, he said to himself as he reached close to Aditya’s house. Suddenly, he encountered Parikshit’s father on the way, as a result of which he decelerated down and halted to greet him. “So, going to take admission in any private engineering college?” his father asked Aviral in a taunting mode. “Not yet decided uncle”, Aviral replied with a faking smile on his face as he had thousand other thoughts bombarding on his mind’s walls at that stage of time.

“If you are looking for one in our region I can get you admitted with a waivered fee as well”. He nudged a bit and politely moved out of there and finally reached Aditya’s house. “Aditya, open the door, mate!” he called upon with a storming voice. Aditya came up at the door and asked in a yawning voice, “What happened Aviral, why are you here so early, today?” I ain’t early pal you are sleeping till so late, he replied. Boot up your desktop, fast, he added. “But for what?” asked Aditya. “The results are out; I can’t wait anymore now I’m dying out of nervousness.”

Keep calm, mate I’m booting it up. They both sat in front of the desktop, Aviral entered his roll number and clicked!……

It all started three years back, Aviral was a son of a watchman in a soap manufacturing company and his mother used to stitch clothes to earn some money for a living. They didn’t have that much capital invested for Aviral that he could attend a reputed schooling. As a result of disinterested teachers in his government school, Aviral lost his likings for studying and never fared well in the exams. So Aviral’s father proposed his company’s manager for a low grade job for his son in that company. The manager readily agreed and Aviral started working as a packing operator of soap caskets.
Life was running the usual way until a serious crisis occurred in the company. A flood of customer complaints started rolling in stating that many of the soap packets were packaged vacant without any soap cake inside it. A corporate level meeting was called for the same issue.

Many of the engineers gave ideas of various instrumentations that would separate the vacant and the filled packet but all of those techniques were costing in millions which was not feasible for the company. Aviral came inside the meeting hall for some clerical work. He saw the officials of the company were distressed due to the severe issue. Suddenly the Executive Director asked his employees if anyone had any other idea to resolve the issue. Aviral raised his hand as he was standing aside near the drawers. The manager asked Aviral if he wanted something. Aviral stated that he could easily resolve the issue and the crisis without any instrumentation or added investment.

All the employees smiled in amusement thinking low of his capabilities. On asking how he would do that, he replied that a strong table fan should be placed before the final packaging is done as a result of which the vacant packets would fly off due to the fan’s blow and the heavy soap containing packets would stay intact and get packaged.
There was a stun silence in the meeting hall. Everyone was jolted for a minute. The engineers of the company got goose bumps.

The Director clapped in zest and applied his methodology to the packaging department. Soon, all the customer complaints vanished and the company’s profit skyrocketed even more than before. The Director asked Aviral if he wanted to study engineering but Aviral had no clue of it. The director talked to his father and got Aviral admitted in the best school of the city as well as a coaching institute which would provide him guidance for the competitive exams like the IIT.

With a really weak academic base, Aviral joined the school as well as the coaching. The concepts and the chapters flew over his head like a supersonic jet. The real trouble had started to begin for Aviral.
A known boy Parikshit was also in the same coaching. His performance in the tests was impressive. Aviral asked Parikshit to guide him regarding the basic concepts of science and math. But Parikshit used to boast off his knowledge and never helped others. He denied Aviral for any kind of help though he knew him very well. Life ran the same way for both. Finally they both appeared for the exam, result came after some time Parikshit secured a really reputed college in Delhi but missed a rank in IIT whereas Aviral didn’t secure any rank anywhere.
After Parikshit entered the college, Aviral again asked him for guidance in search of some hope. Parikshit talked very bluntly this time; he told him “I even after being such a talented guy couldn’t get into IIT, then how could you even think of the word IIT even in your dreams. Stop calling me for guidance again and again and no need of such hard work if you have no talent dwelling inside you.” The call ended…….
Aviral got extremely depressed by these words. He thought that he could never achieve anything in life. He thought to give up the idea of appearing for the IIT entrance for the second time. He went to the Director of the company in which he worked and thanked him for his support but also admitted his inability to crack the IIT entrance and stated that he would again start working at the same post in the company as he was working before.
The Director was shocked to hear this. He put his hands on Aviral’s shoulders and said, “Aviral, my boy for me you became the best engineer of the world on the same day when you gave that revolutionary idea. You are already an IITian only what is left is your rank that the people will know after next year’s results are announced. Always remember that hard work beats talent, when talent does no hard work! Even if the IIT selects only one child from the nation have that faith in yourself that it would only be you! Life will offer you many Parikshits all you need to do is accept their challenge and win over them rather than getting depressed and victimized by such people. A man is, what he thinks of himself! Go, my boy chase your dreams, life has just begun!” Aviral was jolted for a second and charged up to the brim. The director’s words struck his mind like a thunder; a new Aviral stepped out of the director’s room. He went straight to his room locked the door from inside and made a herculean study plan which he began to follow religiously. Problems came he felt the pain as well at times but he tried and tried and tried until he started resolving his problems. He cleared all his doubts, did rigorous practice and locked himself inside that room most of the time for the next one year.

For the next one year, he burnt the midnight oil and put his blood and sweat for that one thing called IIT.
Finally the D-day came Aviral wrote the IIT entrance exam, the exam didn’t go up to his expectations but he thought to wait for the results…..

He reached Aditya’s house on the day when the results came out. They both sat in front of the desktop; Aviral entered his roll number and clicked!
    ERROR:404 PAGE NOT FOUND
The screen displayed. He entered again the screen showed the same page, he got depressed, although his heart was in mouth. He entered his roll number for the third time in the query box and loading occurred but this time what the screen showed was something out of the world. AVIRAL KUMAR(AIR : 1512) was written in bold.

Tears began to flow through Aviral’s eyes. It was a mixed moment for him. All his hard work had paid off. Those sleepless nights, those painful days, those taunting moments, the director’s words; all these things were floating together in his mind. The boy next door had became an IITian and was going to change the lives of hundreds others like him.

Finally, after some days Parikshit called him up to congratulate and this time Parikshit asked Aviral how he cleared IIT. This time Aviral replied positively, “HARDWORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DOES NO HARDWORK!”
    And the call ended…….

  • Society needs a CHANGE

    Society needs a CHANGE

Its a story mainly on the idea of creating an awareness in children regarding the protection of environment.

Sherline was a curious young woman who loved nature too much. In every act of hers, she cared for the society, much more importantly on relation to the natural resources. She felt that nature was really important to the life of mankind and hence she always wanted to protect it from exhaustion. From her very young age, she wanted to create a safe environment. Unlike other children who love playing games in electronic gadgets, Sherline always behaved differently. She loved gardening. While others plucked flowers and spoiled the hedges, she treated every plant as a living being and never hurt them. Years went on with this attitude of hers.

It was a day during her schooling when she came to know that the source of papers was trees. She was shocked on the quantity of deforestation for the manufacture of papers. That day, she decided not to waste papers anymore and insisted the same on others. She used to utilize every available space on papers. Later, she felt that the electronic gadgets such as e-mail and e-books could reduce the usage of paper and so she started using them on this very purpose. She did not waste her minutes on pastimes and used the facilities just to reduce the usage of papers. She also cared that she did not waste electricity at any way. She always used electric power only when it was absolutely necessary.

She was ten years old when she participated on a speech competition in her school. She spoke boldly on the importance of trees. “Trees are essential for our life. They give us the food we eat, pleasant scented flowers for decoration, shade from the hot sun, wood for making cartons, benches, doors and windows. They are useful in every little way in our daily life. Above all, trees help us to survive in this world by providing us the pure oxygen that we breathe in. As we know, we are polluting the atmospheric air by burning the wastes, plastics, and by industrial exhausts and automobile emissions. But trees take up these hazardous oxides of carbon from the atmosphere and give us pure oxygen for our life. So, without trees, our life becomes tragic. We are not realizing the importance of trees and cutting them down for our needs. We can make use of other resources such as metals for our needs. We can promote recycling of the used papers to get new ones. This will help in reducing the large scale bamboo deforestation. We are also giving up agricultural lands for promoting construction of buildings. If this goes on, then we will lack food. Trees also help us to maintain the water cycle by bringing rain to us thus procuring pure water for our needs. Thus,

TREES play a major role in our life , yet we are not protecting them.

We are also wasting water on a large scale. Running off taps during brushing and washing wastes a lot of water. We have to reduce our usage of water since the quantity of available drinking water in the Earth is very low. Also, electricity is important for our life. Many of us are wasting it by not turning off the unwanted devices, fans and lights in our day-to-day life. This must be avoided since we cannot renew the source of electricity after some decades.”

There was a big applause after her speech and she was awarded the first prize. The Head appreciated her great knowledge in this young age and insisted others to understand the importance of trees and promote planting them.

Days were passing. Wherever she went, she wanted to keep her environment clean and good. She used to pick up the rubbish on roads and discard them in the nearby dustbins. She did this as a hobby during her weekend holidays near her residency. People watching this action of hers felt moved and they started following the same. Then, she used to talk to people regarding the possibilities of infection from the unclean environment and the goodness of having a pollution free, tidy lands around. Everyone started following her and managed to discard wastes only in the respective bins. In few months, her area of residency became clean. Everyone loved her attitude. She started writing articles to the newspapers that attracted everyone’s attention. This lead to a large scale awareness on environment related issues. She always spoke about afforestation and planted trees all around the places she went and requested the people to care for the trees that she had planted. She also considered the importance of protecting Non-Renewable resources such as electricity, petroleum, etc. Every week, at the church, she gave messages from The Gospel regarding society and she used to speak about the steps essential for promoting green environment.

After completing her schooling, she chose the field of Automobile engineering for her graduation, yet she kept on learning things in various fields. She completed her project by designing low emission engine. This project was proposed for a large scale development since it was highly economical and largely feasible. Due to her knowledge on mechanics, she also designed a domestic level paper recycling machinery. She also created a machine for reducing the size of plastic waste so that they can be sent for recycling. Both of these could be used in every house at an affordable cost thereby reducing paper usage and discard of plastics into the environment. She was awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Government for these inventions. She was also provided with funding for promoting the large scale manufacturing of these machineries. And the Government decided to make arrangements for collection and recycling of the plastic wastes that will be available in every house from processing using these machines.

That was the time, when the country’s Prime Minister introduced the Swachh Bharath Mission for creating a pollution free, tidy, green and clean INDIA within three years. Sherline created an awareness to the public regarding the mobile application that was developed by the Government under this mission for helping the Government to identify unclean areas so that they could be rectified.

She also got suggestions from her friends for constructing green, eco-friendly buildings and created proposals to the government so that these ideas could be  incorporated in all the PWD projects. Due to her dedication towards nature, she traveled to every corner of the state including rural, urban and suburban areas for creating awareness to the people regarding green environment. Her motto was simple :

“Promote afforestation, use recycling methods, reduce usage of plastic, BE ECO-FRIENDLY”

Her attitude easily attracted all the people she met. She used to say stories and present some charts and diagrams while talking to children and illiterate so that they could easily understand her ideas. Everyone believed in her vision and provided her a greater support by keeping their areas clean and green. At some point of time, she got recognized by the Prime Minister of the country who appreciated her for her greater efforts and dedication towards the welfare of the Nation. Thus, her fame became known to the entire country. As time passed by, all the places of the country became clean, everyone promoted afforestation, unwanted cutting of trees were prevented. People started using recycled papers and learnt methods of preventing land and water pollution. Sanitation was promoted in all the places, safe discarding of plastics were done. All the new vehicles came with the low emission engines that was designed by Sherline. She felt proud of her nation and started her journey of life for TURNING THE ENTIRE WORLD GREEN.

  • The Two Extraordinary Wedding From Ramayana And Mahabharata

The Two Extraordinary Wedding From Ramayana And Mahabharata

This is a story of the two extraordinary wedding from Ramayana and Mahabharata combining two epics were Ram breaks the bow of Lord Shiva and wins Sita in swayamwar and on the other hand Arjun successfully shot the fish eye and wins Draupadi in swayamvara. First I shall start from Ramayana were Ram wins the royal competition of the swayamvara and gets married to Sita.

Janaka, the king of Mithila knows that Sita was born from the Earth so he decided to organize his daughter’s swayamwara in an extraordinary way. As Sita grew old Janaka organized a swayamwara in an extraordinary way as planned earlier. Many kings and princes from neighbouring province came to attain this swayamwara. King Janaka announces that he had a mighty bow, which was blessed by Shiva. Those who can string the bow, he will be the husband of my daughter.

The competition of swayamwar had begun. One by one the princes tried to their best to lift the bow but got failed to even lift the bow. King Janak got upset. When Ram entered in the competition he lifted the bow easily with one hand and strung it with a thunderous twang. The bow broke into pieces.

Seeing this skill King Janak and Sita‘s joy had lost their limit. Sita came towards Ram and put a garland on his neck. The wedding became successful and celebrated with joy.rama164

Now I shall narrate the story of Mahabharata were Arjun wins Draupadi in the swayamwara.  As king Janaka, Drupad the king of Panchal decided to organize his daughter’s wedding in an extraordinary manner because he knows that Draupadi was born from a divine fire.

As Draupadi grew old Drupada arranged the swayamwara for his daughter. In swayamwara he arranged a royal competition. Princess and kings from neigboring provinces and other neighboring countries got invited for this swayamwara. Pandavs also entered in swayamwar disguised as Brahmin.  At the centre of the court a pole was erected over which there was a revolving wheel. On the wheel was a wooden fish. At the bottom of the pole there was a pan of water. The one, who can shoot an arrow at the eye of the revolving fish while looking at its reflection in the water below, would marry Draupadi. Many princess including Duryodhan, Dushasan, Shishupal and Jarasandha tried to lift the bow but failed. When Karn entered in the competition he lifted the bow but when he was about to shoot the target. Draupadi stopped Karn and said, “I will not marry a charioteer’s son. Karn got offended from Draupadi’s   comment and left the court.

Drupad became worried about his completion of Draupadi’s swayamwara. Suddenly Arjun dressed as Brahmin entered into competition and shot the target with ease. Drupad and Draupadi got very happy and put the garlad on Arjun’s neck. All the princes became jealous and trying to attack Arjun but Bhim protected Arjun and defeated the princes. Pandavs took Draupadi with them.

When they reached to the hut Pandavs told Kunti, “we had got something for you.” Kunti replied,”share it among yourselves.” But when she saw the bride and was told that she was Arjun’s wife, Kunti was very upset at what she had said. As a custom Pandavs had to obey their mother’s order and thus Draupadi become the wife of all five Pandavs. Just then Krishna entered to their hut. He told Kunti,”In her previous birth she worshipped Shivji to get a husband of five qualities but shivji granted her that in her next life she would marry five men each having one quality. On hearing this Kunti got satisfied and Draupadi became the wife of all five Pandavs.the_swayamvara_of_panchalas_princess_draupadi

This is how the extraordinary marriage happened in Ramayan and Mahabharat .

    Is it not interesting?
