In the darkness, she noticed a pair of sparkling eyes and felt a cool breath on her neck. When she looked back, she noticed a ghostly apparition reaching out to her. She screamed and ran as fast as she could, but she was pursued by the ghost. She noticed a light in the distance and hurried towards it just as she believed she was about to be apprehended. When she arrived at safety, she looked back and watched the ghostly figure go into the trees. She never played hide and seek in the forest again after that.

She ran as fast as she could shows the horror she must have felt and the fear is definitely relatable for most of us . Over-all the story is good depiction of a mini horror story to be recited among friends in dark with a candle in between or to a child who likes this kind of stories.

I will start the review by the analysing the title of the story first. I read the story and felt that ‘Hide and Seek ’ is a key word or a main them you can say but not the best title I would say. When I read this title I preassumed that it will have a playful, adventurous or a genre based on childhood. However I realized that the genre is horror after reading the story . So this title isn’t relevant with the story and doesn’t portray the genre of the story.
Next I appreciate the rigorous and exciting language and vocabulary used by the author. The vocabulary was rigorous and appealing but the tone could have been more appealing in order to make the audience feel the flavor of horror.
Further I would like to highlight the decent flow of the story. At some point I felt it’s unpredictable but at some point it became too obvious which automatically reduces the excitement and curiosity at some point. The flow could have been better and more appealing by adding minute details and more scary lines to build up the horror.
Lastly I would like to rate this story. Overall it was a decent story considering the wonderful articulation, vocabulary and language. However it could have done better in creating thrill and horror, making unpredictable scenarios, making the story more appealing and giving a suitable title. Overall I would rate this story a 3/5.
