Chapter XXXXI: The Revisit

Date: 16th June 2012

Place: Adyar

 

It was afternoon 1.30 p.m.

Pugazhendhi was thinking of visiting Farooq’s house one more time.

 

Since there was continuous fall of deaths in that week, he was not able to visit the place.

He thought of doing it by the afternoon of that Saturday.

 

After his lunch, he started his bike.

He drove to Farooq’s house.

 

There were two police guards standing outside the house.

When they saw him, they saluted him.

 

Their names were Munuswamy and Kandan.

Pugazhendhi asked,” How are you, People?”

 

Munuswamy said, “Fine sir”

Kandan said, “We came to know about Solomon, Raja and Ramesh”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Yes, this case got their lives”

Munuswamy said, “Sir, the Murderer is not an ordinary guy”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Yes, I know”

Kandan said, “He should identified soon”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “We are trying”

Pugazhendhi added,”Ok, I need to make a careful examination of this house”

 

Kandan said,”Ok proceed sir”

Munuswamy said, “Will we assist you, sir?”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “No, Not required”

Kandan said, “Last time, Prabhu did not take our help”

 

Pugazhendhi laughed,”Ha! Ha! Ha!”

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok one of you come with me, while one guard outside”

 

Kandan came forward to be with Pugazhendhi

Pugazhendhi and Kandan went inside.

 

 

 

Chapter XXXXII: A Thorough Search

Date: 16th June 2012

Place: Adyar

 

Pugazhendhi and Kandan searched all the cupboards and table drawers of the house.

No supportive evidence got found.

 

Pugazhendhi got remembrance of Prabhu’s incidence in the house.

It happened in the bedroom.

 

So, Pugazhendhi went to the bedroom, with Kandan following him.

Both of them examined the room.

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Sir, can we move this bed from its position?”

Kandan said, “Yes sir”

 

Pugazhendhi and Kandan together moved the bed from its position.

There was a lid like an arrangement below the bed.

 

It looked like a doorway to a room below.

Pugazhendhi opened the lid.

 

There was a ladder running to a room underneath.

Pugazhendhi walked down the ladder. Kandan followed him.

 

The room was dark below.

It was an underground store room.

 

Pugazhendhi switched on the torch light on his mobile phone.

As the light beam came, they found a series of 10 Bureaus standing in front of them.

 

Pugazhendhi tried to open one of the bureaus, but it got locked.

Both of them started to search the room for keys.

 

There was an Old wall clock hanging in that room.

Pugazhendhi got suspicious over that clock.

 

He removed the clock from that wall.

He found a set of keys hanging at its back.

 

Pugazhendhi took the keys.

He came near the first bureau and tried to open it with that key.

 

The bureau got opened.

Both of their eyes got popped out.

The bureau was full of Indian money in cash.

Kandan exclaimed,”Oh! God”

 

 

They immediately opened all the bureaus.

Everything had cash in it.

Kandan said, “Sir, it is a huge treasure”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Yes it is”

Kandan said, “This is why on that day, Prabhu got attacked by the robot”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Yes”

Pugazhendhi checked once again for any clues in all the bureaus one by one.

 

While checking the seventh bureau, he saw an agreement paper.

The agreement was a vendor agreement of Farooq and a person named Rawat.

 

The address proof of Rawat got attached to that document.

The address was in Abhiramapuram of Chennai.

 

Kandan asked, “Sir, You have got a major breakthrough in this case”

Pugazhendhi said, “Yes, We already doubted that there was a third person involved”

 

Kandan said, “Great sir”

Pugazhendhi said, “This could be Black money”

 

Kandan said, “Yes sir”

Pugazhendhi took his mobile phone and called Kannan.

 

Kannan answered the phone, “Hello Pugazh”

Pugazhendhi said, “Hello sir, we have a new turning point in this case”

 

Kannan asked, “What is it?”

Pugazhendhi said, “We found a secret basement in Farooq’s house”

 

Kannan asked, “Any good evidence?”

Pugazhendhi said,”mmm….a lot of black money in 10 Bureaus”

 

Kannan exclaimed, “What? Black money, how much it could be?”

Pugazhendhi said, “I don’t know may be more that Rs.25 Crores”

 

Kannan exclaimed,”Oh my god”

Lightning went through Kannan’s mind and body.

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Please come here soon with your team”

Kannan said, “Yes I will”

 

The call got disconnected.

Pugazhendhi and Kandan smiled at each other.
