In the late 1990s, in the vast and mysterious depths of the pacific ocean, there lived a magnificent whale named Lisa. She was the last in her species to be alive.  Lisa was not an ordinary whale, she possessed a magical gift. Whenever Lisa sang her melodious songs, the waves would dance and the creatures of the sea would gather to listen in awe.

Lisa’s songs carried a message of peace, unity, and love. They resonated with the hearts of all who heard them, from the tiniest fish to the largest marine mammals. Even humans who happened to be sailing nearby would feel a sense of tranquility and wonder as Lisa’s songs reached their ears. News of Lisa’s enchanting voice spread far and wide, and people from distant lands would embark on long journeys to catch a glimpse of this legendary creature. They would set sail, guided by tales of the magnificent whale who possessed a voice that could heal the soul.

One day, as Lisa swam gracefully through the waves, she noticed a commotion in the distance. She saw a woman desperately coming closer, rubbing her hand softly against Lisa . The young whale was frightened and in distress, suspected it to be an intension to attack, similar to what happened to her mates. Lisa’s gigantic eye kept staring at the woman named Tyga , who was actually a scientist, working to save such endangered species in that region. Gradually with time, Luna understood Tyga’s compassion with her affectionate touch.

In no time, there approached a shark, moving fiercely towards Tyga. The whale which is said to be a human’s friend, sensed the situation and jumped above the water with Tyga on her body, in order to save her. It was now that Tyga, amazed by this action, realized the love of the Lisa. This made an imprint in both their hearts.

Exactly after a year, to Tyga’s surprise, she got a call from the nearby port saying that a gigantic whale has come to the shore. Tyga sensed the connection. Yes, it was Lisa. Running towards Lisa in awe and excitement, leaning against her, she couldn’t believe how she bonded in a friendship with a non-human. It worked like telepathy. Now they’ve become friends forever with frequent visits.

From that day forward, Lisa’s fame grew even greater. She became a symbol of hope, reminding people of the interconnectedness of all beings and the importance of protecting the delicate balance of the ocean. People pledged to use their knowledge and resources to ensure the well-being of marine life and to preserve the wonders of the deep sea.

Lisa continued her journey, swimming across vast oceans, singing her songs of peace and harmony wherever she went. Her melodies echoed through the waves, reminding all who heard them of the beauty that lies beneath the surface, and the importance of cherishing and protecting the magnificent creatures that call the ocean their home.

And so, the tale of Lisa, the magical whale, and her captivating songs of love and compassion, spread throughout the world, inspiring generations to come, and reminding us all of the power that lies within the simplest acts of kindness and the profound impact they can have on our planet.

“A man-animal accord” by Pavithra Elangovan is a nice attempt for the people to be kind to the nature. I t also makes us realize how beautiful is the nature, and how useful it can be by providing the best emotional support which heals our soul.
Now, coming onto the character sketch then I feel disappointed with the absence of the physical details of Tyga, the story is full of psychological profile of Tyga which makes the reader realize how kind and compassionate she is. But there’s a disappointment in the physical profile, as the reader will not be able to visualize the person and feel disconnected with it.
The theme of this story seems to me Human vs nature but there seems faded descriptions of the conflict with the humans. If the topic would have been “Human-animal accord” , then I feel it would make us more connected. As after reading the topic, I feel the reader would be looking for a specific man.
Overall it’s a nice attempt and smoothly moving story with less frictions in the middle, and I think there the writer could improve the story to make the reader glued.
I appreciate the time, hard work and idea that has gone onto the work.

    Story Review
Introduction: ‘A man-animal accord’ written by Pavithra Elangovan is a short story based on juvenile fantasy genre. The story revolves around a whale as a personified protagonist and her friendship with a human.

Summary: A magnificent whale named Lisa, who possess a magical singing voice that carried harmony, unity and love. Her voice resonated with the hearts of all who heard them from tiniest fishes to humans. The reach of her melodious voice is so far that people would embark long journeys to catch a glimpse of her. One fine day, Lisa encountered with a scientist named Tyga. Their first meeting was obvious as Lisa was scared but then she felt the compassionate love by a human. She saved Tyga from an attack from a shark. A year later, they met again as friends. From then on Lisa and her captivating songs of love and compassion spreads symbolising the power of simple acts of kindness on our planet and how it can change the relationship between a man and an animal.

Personal Opinion: I adored the story because it demonstrates the strength pf love and generosity. This tale exemplifies the possibility of harmony in the co-existence of animals and human. The setting of the story fits the genre.
However, the story is pretty straightforward and lacks major twist. The author may add more instances that conveys the same thing. The ending of the story is quite dull and not fascinating.

Literary devices used: Metaphor and personification.

Conclusion: Because the narrative is intended to children (less than age 8) I would not advise reading it. While you can read them to kids , you can prefer other stories of same genre.
