When I Saw Him

So, basically, when your school life was not as good as you wished for because you grew up with strict parents, you start hoping for a better life in college. You start to imagine your life differently, that you will meet new people, visit new places, try new things, and especially have a wonderful love experience. You feel this is your chance to start a new path for yourself. Now, there I was sitting with my college mates on the first day of college, the first day of my new and hopefully exciting life.

The classroom was beaming with the heat of August, everyone was interested to know about each other. The teacher entered and introduced herself and then asked everyone else to introduce themselves.

For me, it was not a big deal as I always was an extrovert and a public speaker. Everyone else gathered courage and one by one stood on the podium to introduce themselves.

After a few people, a voice came which took me completely off-guard, not because I recognized the voice but because it was filled with confidence and boldness. I looked up, “Hello, my name is Keshav”.

Keshav, my new favorite word. I don’t remember what he said next because I was so mesmerized by his looks. I knew then and there that Keshav is everything and everywhere for me.

The next day, I decided to talk to him but strangely enough, I couldn’t. For some reason, it was so difficult to gather the courage and go and talk to him. All I could do was to see him from afar.

After about a week I got a sigh from the god. I knew he would never disappoint me, Keshav and I were in the same group for an assignment and I finally asked him if he would like to discuss the topic over a coffee.

“I was going to ask the same of you”, he replied.

I am going to love you forever, Keshav.

And you are going to fall in love with me, Keshav.

Keshav.

Keshav.

Keshav.

Time changed and then stopped when I saw him.
