The young couple had just moved into their new home, excited to start their lives together. But as soon as they settled in, strange things began to happen. Doors would slam shut on their own, and objects would move across the room without explanation.

One night, the couple was awoken by a loud noise coming from the attic. They went to investigate, and as they climbed the stairs, they heard a faint whispering. It sounded like a child’s voice, but they couldn’t make out what it was saying.

When they reached the top of the stairs, they saw a small figure standing in the corner. It was a little girl, dressed in an old-fashioned dress, with long, tangled hair. She was staring at them with empty eyes, and they could feel a cold breeze blowing from her direction.

The couple tried to leave the attic, but the door wouldn’t budge. They were trapped with the ghostly girl, who continued to whisper incoherently. Suddenly, she let out a blood-curdling scream, and the room was plunged into darkness.

When the couple finally managed to escape, they never returned to the attic again. But they could still hear the whispers in their dreams, and they knew that the ghostly girl was still watching them from the shadows.

The story seems intriguing and summons the reader directly into it’s world. The author has made great efforts to keep the plot engaging and mysterious, the eerie setting created by them is suspenseful, matching precisely to the title of the story.

The work is pretty fast paced and hence keeps the reader on their toes. The choice of words and the content formation used by the author is quite pleasing, exactly as one would expect from a horror piece. They have done a great job in assembling a good plot, setting and writing all together.

Although I personally feel the work seems to be lacking at a few points. The concept chosen by the author is pretty basic and overused, hence taking away the uniqueness. The sentences were far from amusing, and the flow of the plot is all over place. I also feel like the end was abrupt and came out of nowhere. Even if it was intended by the author to do so, the reader is left confused rather than surprised or expecting.

Summing up, the story was engaging and scary, I could feel the tension of the young couple through my screen. Overall the author delivered what they promised, the story of a haunted house.

“The Haunted House” is a spine-chilling tale that will send shivers down your spine. From the moment the young couple moved into their new home, the suspense and paranormal activities kept the readers on the edge of their seats.

The author skillfully builds up the tension, introducing eerie occurrences that escalate in intensity as the story progresses. The doors slamming shut and objects moving on their own create an atmosphere of unease and foreboding. These events set the stage for the heart-pounding climax that awaits in the attic.

The description of the attic scene is particularly vivid and haunting. The faint whispering and the appearance of the ghostly girl with her empty eyes and disheveled appearance evoke a sense of dread and otherworldliness. The author’s ability to capture the fear and helplessness of the couple as they find themselves trapped with the ghostly presence is commendable.

The narrative takes a terrifying turn when the ghostly girl unleashes a blood-curdling scream, plunging the room into darkness. This moment of intense fear leaves a lasting impression on the readers, as they share in the characters’ terror and desperation to escape.

The psychological impact of the haunting is also effectively conveyed. The couple’s decision to never return to the attic shows the lingering fear and trauma they experienced. The haunting doesn’t end with their escape, as the ghostly girl’s whispers continue to haunt their dreams. This open-ended conclusion leaves readers with a sense of lingering unease and allows them to imagine the haunting’s lasting impact on the couple’s lives.

“The Haunted House” is a masterfully crafted ghost story that succeeds in creating a genuinely eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The author’s attention to detail and the ability to evoke a sense of dread through descriptive language make this tale an engaging and chilling read. If you enjoy supernatural thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, “The Haunted House” is a must-read. This literature review aims to analyze the main components of narratives and examine the effectiveness of narrative structure, themes, and the use of suspenseful and supernatural elements.

    Story structure:

“The haunted house” follows a linear narrative structure that begins with the couple’s initial excitement for their new home and ends with a spooky experience and subsequent avoidance of the attic. The story effectively builds suspense through a series of bizarre events, culminating in a terrifying encounter with a ghostly girl in the attic. Tension and Atmosphere:

One of the strengths of this story is its ability to create and sustain suspense. Tensions rise further when the couple hears whispers in the attic and discovers the presence of a ghostly girl. The story effectively arouses the reader’s fear of the unknown, using dark places and supernatural elements to create a sense of dread.

    Supernatural elements:

The inclusion of supernatural elements is a defining aspect of this story. A ghostly girl in a vintage dress and eerie attitude adds an element of mystery and spookiness.
