In the bustling city of Metropolis, where skyscrapers towered and people rushed by, there lived a man named Ethan. Amidst the chaos and noise, he embodied the spirit of humanity, shining brightly like a guiding star. Ethan believed that the essence of being human lay in acts of compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of one another.

Every day, as he walked the crowded streets, Ethan would lend a helping hand to those in need. He would offer a warm smile to the weary homeless woman sitting on the sidewalk, sharing his lunch with her and reminding her that she was seen and valued. He would patiently listen to the troubled teenager who felt lost and offer guidance, encouraging them to pursue their dreams. In hospitals, he would sit by the bedside of the sick, holding their hands, and comforting them with words of hope.

News of Ethan’s unwavering kindness began to spread throughout the city. People from all walks of life were inspired by his selflessness, and they, too, began to embrace the power of humanity. Acts of goodwill rippled through the city like a wave, with individuals helping their neighbors, volunteering at shelters, and supporting charitable causes.

One day, a devastating storm struck Metropolis, leaving destruction and despair in its wake. Ethan, recognizing the urgency of the situation, mobilized the community to come together and assist those affected. He organized a shelter for the displaced, ensuring they had a roof over their heads and warm meals to eat. Others joined in, offering supplies, providing comfort, and rebuilding homes.

As the city recovered, the spirit of humanity grew stronger than ever before. People realized that they were not defined solely by their differences, but by their shared humanity. They began to recognize the beauty in diversity and the strength that came from unity.

Word of Metropolis’s remarkable transformation reached the ears of neighboring cities, inspiring them to cultivate their own communities of compassion and understanding. A movement spread across the region, igniting a flame of kindness that could not be extinguished.

Years later, when people spoke of Metropolis, they no longer focused on its towering buildings or bustling streets. They spoke of a city where humanity thrived—a place where empathy and compassion were woven into the very fabric of society.

And it all started with one man—Ethan—a beacon of humanity in a world that sometimes forgot its own heart. His belief in the power of kindness had changed the lives of countless individuals, and his legacy lived on, reminding humanity of its potential to create a better world.

In the end, it wasn’t the buildings or the technology that defined a city—it was the people and the spirit of humanity within them that truly mattered.

This story presents a heartwarming narrative centred around how one individual’s acts of kindness and compassion influence even others and create a chain of effect, making Metropolis a utopic city. The concept is similar to the story ‘The Starfish Rescuers’ where after a thunderstorm, one boy takes the initiative to save starfish and is later joined by hundreds and thousands of people. The message promotes the idea that we can create a better world by recognising our shared humanity and working together. The protagonist, Ethan, is portrayed as an idealised figure embodying the spirit of humanity. While his unwavering kindness and selflessness are admirable, his character lacks complexity. Ethan is depicted as a flawless character; his motivations and personal struggles are not explored. This one-dimensional portrayal might make it difficult for readers to relate to him fully. The setting of the story remains superficial. The description lacks detail and specificity, limiting the reader’s ability to fully immerse themselves into the story. The imagery of a “guiding star” and a “beacon of humanity” adds a poetic touch, emphasising the transformative effect of Ethan’s actions. There was one language error with the use of apostrophes, but overall, there are no language or grammatical errors. The use of English (American English) is also consistent. Overall, the story presents an uplifting narrative that celebrates the power of kindness and unity. However, it could benefit from better and deeper character development, more detailed settings, and a more nuanced exploration of societal issues. The story would then become even more thought-provoking and resonant with readers.

“Humanity” by Mohd Hamad is a story which tries to illuminate moral values to its readers in a simple, straightforward way. It follows the story of an immensely kind man named Ethan living in the skyscrapper city of Metropolis. He was the embodiment of humanity, often helping people out in their needy times. His acts of humanity spread across the city and masses of people, who inspired by him, also developed compassion for mankind and a fellow feeling to the citizens of Metropolis.
When a menacing storm struck the city, Ethan called upon this community of hospitable people to help rebuild the city from this destruction that has left people without a roof over their head. As the city slowly recovered from this calamity, the people realised the strength and goodness that lies in humanity. The transformation of the place because of the humanitarian acts of its citizens reached the people from the neighbouring cities who were also inspired to open communities of kindness. History will remember Metropolis as a city where kindness and empathy flowed relentlessly and this made it more remarkable than its materialistic achievements and this all started because of one man, Ethan.
The author emphasises the importance of humanity and how it can redefine a whole place and group of people. The spirit of humanity is the most notable quality that humans must have over anything else.
