- “The eyes of a non-worthy person are blind by wealth
- when eyes of a worthy person are filled with darkness
- and hopelessness 🌿”
- I looked outside the compartment in despair of one person to accept me as normal when I
- heard some chattering sounds of two people, among those sounds I heard a magical voice
- entering my ears blocking all other sounds and taking me in a trance of butterflies
- Not long, she came in…I heard her slippers sound and the bangles dangling along with those
- anklets and the most chiming earrings I could ever hear
- She came in and by her breathing,I sensed that she might be afraid of my presence all of a
- sudden. I myself covering my blindness thinking she wouldn’t like me, I heard her sweet
- voice but couldn’t resist from talking to her
- So I asked-
- “excuse me,may I know which stop are you getting down at?”
- “Iam getting down at saharanpur, why did you ask though?”
- After hearing the few words and sentences,he got flattered by her angelic voice and wanted to
- talk more but there was nothing to talk and the scene was getting ackward
- She distracted the ackwardness by asking me:
- “arent you looking outside the window?…the view is beautiful,I miss those views after Many
- years of working hard”
- Out of curiosity,I asked her a little more obvious about her life
- “were you an 24\7 shift employee by any chance?”
- I didn’t joke though she still laughed and her laugh was like the Temple bells chimes when
- everything is calm and it’s the only voice ringing in your head
- She startled me trying to get me out of my imagination by touching my shoulders..Her soft
- hands felt slow and so gentle like spreading melted butter on bread
- Although I wouldn’t relate me and her to bread and butter ofc haha
- I got back to my senses and she answered my question:
- “sorry to startle you like that, iam actually a student and part time worker so I have no breaks in between which makes this trip new and energetic to me”
- “wow, you are indeed a hardworking lady. Can I know this beautiful ladies name if she is
- okay with it?”
- She blushed a bit and answered in a slight laugh without feeling nervous that he was a
- stranger
- “swathi,what is your name?”
- “You have Saraswati Devi in your name too, you are indeed gifted…my name is sahil”
- “thankyou, even my surname is Devi and what’s yours?”
- “Dev”
- They both were startled at the significance and similarities about them…after an hour of
- conversation about parents troubles and their fear for her , she said goodbye before getting
- down at her stop
- “it was really nice talking to you,and I wanted to tell something before going”
- “sure,what is it?”
- “you have perfect eyes, don’t just hide them…let them free and love the gift god gave people
- like us rather than feeling ashamed of it 🙂
- “wait,are you also …hey”
- Before he could find her,she left and put a note written in Braille for him which a stranger
- who saw her going gave him
- “hi,can you please tell me how she looked…did she have beautiful eyes and did she have
- short or long braided hair??”
- “She was indeed beautiful and such angelic eyes with long braided hair but sad that god
- didn’t give her light to see outside world….she left you a note, is it yours?”
- “Yes,thankyou”
- The note:-
- “Hey,sorry if I left without saying proper goodbye
- This is my number and whenever you feel lonely or insecure about your
- sight ,iam here and not just for that. We can meet often and make our
- dark world bright together if you want to
- Never feel disappointed with your disability, take it as a blessing and
- let’s face it and live in it together
- Iam waiting near the water stall in front of you, come down before the
- train starts or you will miss this one chance we have”
- I ran all compartments with all my luggage stumbling others and searched for her
- perfume…then i got a fragnance of her perfume and hugged her tight and started crying
- “hey,calm down iam here”
- “I used to hide myself but you are the only one who said this and were you serious about that
- note?”
- “if not,why would my shadow wait for the scorching sun?”
- I laughed and held her tight …we boarded the train to mussoorie and she called her abusive
- aunt saying:
- “You got rid of an insect, never call me again and iam informing my parents.donot bother or
- waste your time ringing them”
- We both sat near the window seat and imagined the view together and I laughed at her
- confusing phrases and jokes. And so we met and maybe she was my messenger and iam hers
- in this horrible world where humanity is less and money or property is more important
- I know going on first meet itself to live a life with her is odd but atleast safer than this selfish
- world who doesn’t seek a person’s emotions or pain
- Happily ever after,we live in our bright world which is blindly dark to elements with perfect
- eyes!
