This story is very well written and engaging. I was captivated by it and wished there was more to read. However, as a reviewer, I noticed a few areas that could be improved upon. These are not necessarily problems, but rather suggestions to enhance the overall reading experience. I’ll be using simpler language for this review, as it aligns with one of my suggestions.
Firstly, although the story is well written and utilizes professional vocabulary, it’s important to consider the readers’ comprehension. Not everyone may be familiar with all the words used, unless they have a strong background in literature or take the time to look them up. As a writer, it’s beneficial to make the content more accessible, decipherable, and enjoyable. It’s an incredible experience to read an interesting story and understand every sentence without needing to go back and re-read.
I’m not suggesting to completely abandon the use of sophisticated vocabulary, but rather to employ it in moderation. This approach allows readers to enhance their reading skills and vocabulary gradually. In the case of this short story, it might be worth considering using fewer professional-sounding words. For a novel, it’s understandable to use a higher level of language, as it requires a more professional tone and is typically longer. Please take these suggestions into account, as I’m offering a reader’s perspective. Although I am familiar with most of the words used in this story, I acknowledge that I still have much to learn. If I can’t fully enjoy your works, it would be a missed opportunity for both of us.
Secondly, please avoid concluding such an intriguing story with an anticlimactic ending. The suspense builds up throughout the narrative, only to abruptly descend. This indicates that extending the story further could greatly improve its impact. Even so, I would have appreciated a more thrilling climax and a longer story.
