The Tales of Zeron

Before I start my story, I wanna tell the

only thing I have learned is to never run

away from anything cause you have to

face it and if not today then in future.

1 year ago……………………

I really couldn’t imagine I was doing it, after

10 years. How will I face that town again?

What had happened 10 years before was

still haunting me in my dreams, it was my

worst nightmare and after I ran away and

started my new life I never thought that I

would return back to Zeron city . “Chloe,

Hurry up!” called my mom. I was in my

room saying goodbye, after all this house

has been my home and has protected me

for all these years. I got in the car still

unwilling to leave but I couldn’t let my family

know about it. The way to Zeron brought back various haunting memories, some of

which I have already forgotten over the

decade. “Your favourite cousin Madison is

going to be there too. Aren’t you excited?”

asked dad, trying to cheer me up. “ Yeah I

am excited to see Mads,” I replied.

As soon as we reached Zeron my worries

started growing and with every step I was

hit with the sense of realization that it is

here. The moment I had left Zeron , I never

thought to ever come back. I still can’t

imagine how out of all the places in the

world my dad got transferred to Zeron, the

place I hate the most.

We were outside our new house. It was ten

times bigger than our old one but I would

still stay there than here. “Chloe” someone

called my name and I turned to see

Madison standing behind me with her

luggage. She has become more beautiful than the last time I saw her and her blonde

hair and ocean blue eyes were looking

gorgeous. She ran towards me and we

hugged each other. “Brown head,how are

you?” she asked me. I am the only one who

has brown eyes and brown hair so she likes

to call me that. If you are wondering how

then let me explain to you my parents are

my adopted parents, they adopted me 10

years ago when I was 6. “ Fine Mads”I

replied. I looked around , and this town

hasn’t changed in 10 years. Nothing, not

even a little change was there. We went

inside our house to get settled down.

Madison was staying with us from now on

as her parents have gone abroad.

The next day I was starting a new school

life in my new school along with Madison.

‘Zeron International School’ was not a new

name for me. My mom dropped us there and as soon as I entered I knew I was in

trouble. “Hello” said someone from behind

us. “ I am Zack,” said a tall boy with black

hair and green eyes. Something about his

eyes made me feel familiar. He helped us to

find our class although I think we were

better without him. “Hey I am your

classmate too so why do you pull a long

face or maybe this is how your face is” he

said after coming back and now you know

why I hate him. He is so nice to Madison

but technically he hates me too. After

classes where I wasn’t able to concentrate

thanks to him for making fun of me for the

entire time , he invited us to his house

which was not a good idea according to me

so I turned him down immediately but

Madison pulled me aside. “What’s wrong

with you?” she asked. “Listen, I am not

going anywhere and neither are you,” I said firmly. “Come on,” she said. “You think you

can change my mind?” I asked. “No, please

try to understand” she said and the way she

looked at me, I knew what she was

thinking. “He is your new crush, isn’t he? I

asked. “It isn’t a new crush this time,” she

said. “ Not again” I exclaimed. It is one of

the things I don’t like about her. “Fine but

only for you and just this once” I said. “You

don’t need to come if you don’t want to,” he

said and that time I wanted to tell him that

I also didn’t want to be a third wheel and

besides I was only putting up with him

because of Mads.

We followed him and he kept making fun of

me for no reason. “ Have you guys ever

heard about the tales of Zeron?” he asked.

As soon as I heard those words I knew we

were in trouble. “No , but we would love to,”

answered Chloe. “ I would love to tell you,” he answered. I wanted to run away at that

moment but something kept me there.

“There once was a time when Zeron was

full of witches and wizards. There were

basically three types and only two of them

were found easily , the Exers and the

Exzons but the third type was rarely found

as it was the most powerful one, the Zeron.

As the tales goes only two zerons were

known and one of them tried to kill the other

for power. Due to this there was a huge war

and a lot of people died and till this date

there is no clue of the Zerons,’’He said. “

What exactly did they do?” Madison asked.

“ Exers healed people and made

prophecies but they couldn’t fight first or fly

while the Exzons protected people as

warriors and could fly as for the Zerons

they were considered rulers as they could

do everything and most importantly their magic was pure white which was the

strongest one.” he explained. I noticed the

path we were going on seemed really

familiar. “So that’s what this town is called

Zeron”said Madison. “Yeah correct

princess,” He replied. Madison giggled but

my smile faded and fear took over me. “Or

should I say princess Rose,”He said and

stopped. “Who?’’ asked Madison. My face

went pale, Does he know? Or maybe it was

a guess. “As per the tales of Zeron, the last

Zeron who was our Princess Rose didn’t

die and would return so the only new

person who came would be her, aren’t you

her?”he asked hesitantly. “What are you

talking about?” I said and grabbed Madison.

I tried to leave but suddenly he vanished

and appeared right in front of us. At that

moment I knew it was too late. “You’re not

leaving anywhere,” he said. After that what happened was all blur in my mind cause all

I remember was waking up at an unknown

place. “ She is not Rose” said an old voice.

I moved some branches of which were in

front of me. There was a whole gathering in

front of me, it looked like everyone in the

town was there. I noticed my mom and dad

and Madison tied there. An old man was

questioning Zack. “Where is Rose?” he

asked. “She is not Rose, we will have to kill

them,”he said. No, I couldn’t let it happen.

“Stop,” I said, coming out. There was

complete silence for a few seconds. “Who

is she?” the old man asked Zack. “ I don’t

think I need an introduction,” I said. I am

finally doing this, after all these years of

hiding, I can’t stay hidden any more. “She is

Chloe, her cousin but she couldn’t possibly

be Rose as she has parents” he said

pointing towards Madison and my parents. “I have known her, she is not who you want

so please leave her” I said. “Chloe what are

you doing? Run away” said Madison. “How

do you know who we are looking for?” the

old man asked. “Cause I know Rose”I

replied. Everyone gasped in shock. “ Stop

being a fool, no one is going to believe your

lies,” said Zack with a bit of worry because I

know he knew what happens if someone

lies. The most simple rule of this city is that

the one who lies dies. “Aren’t you pretty

dumb for an exon?”I said in a sarcastic

tone. “How do you know?” he asked. I just

sighed and came in my natural form as a

zeron. “ Because I am Rose,” I said. There

was another set of gasps by everyone.

Honestly, I don’t think it was that hard to

predict as I was adopted. Before anyone

could say anything a figure appeared out of

nowhere. I couldn’t believe it was her. After 10 years I am finally facing her again. “Hey,

long time. How’s mom and dad?” she asked

with the same evil grin. “You killed them,”I

said. I remember her as Rachel , the

person I hate the most. Her fair skin, black

hair and black eyes were the same since I

last saw her murdering my parents. “ Time

for you to die,” she said and attacked me.

Luckily Zack saved me and it was the first

time I was glad he was around. A huge

battle took place between me and her. As a

zeron both of us were powerful but I guess

because she was old now she got tired

early. My emotions were out of my control.

She murdered my parents and I can’t even

remember their faces anymore. The only

memory of them which I have is their last

words to me and their last screams. “Run

Rose” I heard my parents’ voices in my

mind. “Watchout dumbo” said Zack. I felt a bit familiar with him for a moment. Suddenly

Rachel stopped but I didn’t and hit her right

in her chest with my powers. She fell on the

ground and stayed motionless before she

was declared dead.“I didn’t mean to,” I

explained. “We got it princess but you must

stay here now and restore your place” said

the old man. “Rose” called Zack. “ Do you

still remember me?” he asked. Honestly I

had forgotten about him but now I

remember, he was my best friend who I had

to leave with in Zeron town,10 years ago. “I

do,” I said and we hugged. He explained

that he was rude to me because he thought

that Madison was me and I had taken his

place as my best friend. “ I have been

looking for you all these years’’ he said. “

Still you couldn’t remember that I was

brown not blonde”I said. “People change a

lot,” he said, defending himself. Since that nothing has really happened in

Zeron and my parents are also cool with the

fact that I am a zeron just that Madison

treats me like her always available magic

show. Zack and I are really close now and

now that I see it I am glad to return to Zeron

otherwise I would have never been able to

take revenge from Rachel to kill my

parents.
