Chapter XXXXVI: A Good Reward for Hard work

Date: 18th June 2012

Place: Commissioner Office, Chennai

 

Kannan had announced an official meeting on 18th June 2012 at 11 O clock.

Pugazhendhi and Muthu were the officers who were present for the meeting.

 

Dhanasekaran had left for Tiruvannamalai to join there.

Some of Kannan’s colleagues who got involved in the Operation of monkey robot were also present.

 

Kannan started to talk in the meeting, “Good morning gentlemen”

Everybody said, “Good morning sir”

 

Kannan said, “At last, we have come to an end in the case of the food material exploitation”

Everybody nodded their heads.

 

Kannan said, “It is a sad news that we have lost many of our colleagues in this operation”

Everybody kept silence.

 

Kannan continued,”Pugazhendhi and Muthu played their roles well in this operation”

The other officers applauded them.

 

Kannan continued, “The disastrous guy Rawat had killed Sirish and committed suicide”

Kannan continued, “At last, he tried even to kill us using a bomb”

 

Kannan continued, “But, as luck favoured us, we escaped in a matter of minutes”

Pugazhendhi asked, “What about the aunt of Sirish sir?”

 

Kannan said, “She is an innocent, what can we do against her?”

Pugazhendhi asked, “She is under house arrest, right?”

 

Kannan said, “You don’t worry about that, the officers who are enquiring her will take care”

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok sir”

 

Muthu asked, “And, what about the 25 crore rupees?”

Kannan asked, “I won’t take it”

 

Everybody laughed, “a! Ha! Ha!”

Kannan said,” the income tax department will take it”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”Oh, we worked on it, they will take it”

Everybody laughed,”Ha! Ha! Ha!”

 

Kannan said, “what to do man, it is the procedure in this case”

Pugazhendhi asked, “Sir, what about the dead officers?”

 

Kannan said, “Their families will get compensation money”

Pugazhendhi said,”Hmmm…! Ok”

 

Kannan said, “One more news I have for you, especially for Pugazhendhi”

Pugazhendhi asked, “What is it?”

 

Kannan said, “It is your transfer order”

Pugazhendhi exclaimed, “What? Are you joking?”

 

Kannan said, “No man, it has come from our higher officers”

Pugazhendhi said, “Sir, I have given my best, but instead of Promotion, you are giving a transfer”

 

Kannan said, “What to do man, I can’t help this situation”

Pugazhendhi said,”Hmmm…where is the location?”

 

Kannan said, “It is Pazhamathur village”

Pugazhendhi exclaimed, “What? Pazhamathur village? what am I going to do there?”

 

Kannan said, “You can work in a relaxed manner”

Pugazhendhi said,”Hmmm…relaxed manner…Ok”

 

Pugazhendhi went to Kannan and received the order.

Everybody laughed together,”Ha! Ha!, Ha!”

 

Pugazhendhi also laughed within himself.

Pugazhendhi said, “What a great world around me! I enjoy it”

 

Kannan asked, “Are you happy?”

Pugazhendhi said, “Sir, I have an urgent work, can I go now?”

 

Kannan said,”Oh! Sure, you can, but remember one thing, wherever you are, I am your boss”

Pugazhendhi said, “Super Boss”

 

And Pugazhendhi walked away from the meeting.

Everybody laughed together.

 

 

Chapter XXXXVII: A New Form

Date: 18th July 2012

Place: Police Station, Pazhamathur Village

 

Pugazhendhi accepted the transfer and joined in the Police station of Pazhamathur village.

He was working for one month there.

 

In that one month, there were no major cases for him.

It was a village and cases like property related fights and small thefts were only reported.

 

Those cases got solved by his junior officers there.

So, his life became very slow and no challenges were there.

 

On 18th July morning 10 O clock, Pugazhendhi went to his office.

At that time a lady who was from a nearby village was standing there.

 

Her face looked like she had been crying for more than 3 hours.

She was around 40 years old.

 

Pugazhendhi asked, “What is the problem?”

She said, “Sir, My name is muniamma”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “Yes tell me”

Muniamma said, “I am a farm owner here in Kumaravadi village”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok”

Muniamma said, “I planted Sugarcane on my 10-acre farm”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”Ok”

Muniamma said, “It is the fourth month for my planted canes”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”mmm”

Muniamma said, “Last night somebody has cut all my planted crops in the middle stem”

 

Pugazhendhi exclaimed,”Oh! My god”

Muniamma said, “They are in the half stage of their growth”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”Oh, I see”

Muniamma said, “Nobody could do this merciless act”

 

Pugazhendhi asked, “How many losses madam?”

Muniamma said, “I would get around 2 to 3 lakhs per acre while harvest period”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”Oh! Then the losses could amount to around 30 lakhs”

Muniamma cried and said, “Yes sir”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “can I come and see your crops?”

Muniamma said, “Yes sir”

 

Pugazhendhi called the constable,” Apparao! please come here”

Constable Apparao came towards him.

Pugazhendhi said, “We need to go to Kumaravadi, get the jeep”

 

Apparao went and started the Jeep.

Pugazhendhi offered the rear seat for Muniamma.

 

The jeep flew towards Kumaravadi village.

Muniamma’s land got located in the last of the village boundary.

 

On the way, all the villagers were seeing the police jeep flying through the village road.

Small children were jumping with joy on seeing the jeep.

 

At last, they reached the spot said by Muniamma.

A large crowd of village people was standing there.

 

Many of them were crying and the place got filled with noises.

Pugazhendhi saw the agricultural field of Muniamma.

It got damaged to its extreme.

The work done by the farmers to cultivate it has been got to zero.

 

The young half-grown sugarcanes got cut using knives.

It made the remaining things useless and spoiled their process.

 

Pugazhendhi asked,”10 acres of sugarcane madam”

Muniamma said, “yes sir”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “were you all sleeping?”

Muniamma said,” everybody noticed it at morning 5.30 a.m. sir”

 

Pugazhendhi said, “at what time you people will go to sleep?”

Muniamma said, “Night 10 O clock sir”

 

Pugazhendhi said,”mmm…do you have any enemies?”

Muniamma said, “No sir, All are my friends and relations”

 

Muniamma said, “and, everybody respect agriculture here”

Pugazhendhi said,”Hmmm… I will take some photographs”

 

Muniamma said,”Ok “

Pugazhendhi took some photographs of the field.

 

He looked all over the site for some time.

After Half an hour, he said, “Madam, come with me and give a written statement”

 

Muniamma said,”Ok sir”

They got into the jeep and went back to the station.

 

Muniamma gave a written statement.

At 1 O clock, she left the Police station.

Pugazhendhi had his lunch.

 

After his lunch, he sat at his table.

The station was silent.

 

Some of the officers were even sleeping.

In that silence, Pugazhendhi’s mind was restless.

 

His mind told him, “The Business thieves have taken a new form”
