It was a fruitful day, a girl have seen a blossomed flower for the first time in her life. Her sweet name is Neha. Everytime she tried to do a work have ended up with a failure. So she hadn’t participated in any competitions for 5 years. She felt shy to speak in front of everyone. Even her family members hadn’t supported her as they were busy in their works. Their parents were uneducated so they didn’t aware of their daughters talent. Neha didn’t get the support of others. The discouragement of everyone had made her life dark. After 5 years, she had joined in a chess training class. The chess master was very polite and Neha was very interested in playing chess. She had a talent in chess naturally. Neha had improved her talent in chess. Within a few months, she had learnt each and every tricks in the chess game. Everyone was impressed by her talent. One day, her master had motivated and encouraged her to participate in chess tournament which was conducted in Chennai, Tamilnadu. Her parents refused to grant permission as the place is in long distance. Her relatives and friends also haven’t supported her to participate in the chess tournament. Even though everyone discouraged her not to participate, she had participated in the chess tournament with the support of her master. Finally, she won 1st prize accross the state and provided with cash prize. She was awarded by the Chief Minister of the state. By seeing her great achievement, everyone appreciated her and her parents have started supporting her in every aspects.
Moral: If you can’t support, Atleast don’t discourage.
I was intrigued to read this story because of its title. I like this story that you have penned down; short and meaningful. To a lot of us, this story would hit home because, through various means, all of us at some point in time would have been trapped in negativity that drags us into a state of feeling hopeless and misery. I loved the straightforward message the story delivers ‘Can’t be supportive, then don’t discourage’.
I would have loved to read conversations and dialogues between Neha and her family or peers that ‘show’ us their unsupportiveness rather than telling it. Adding a part where Neha deals with her inner turmoil of fighting the negativity which has been shaped in her mind and descriptive narration of her journey to success would have also given this story a spark.
On a constructive note, the work has few grammatical errors, which you could prevent by reading the story multiple times before uploading, and paragraphing is also preferable.
I hope to read more beautiful and meaningful stories from you in future.
